What does diversity have to do with digital design? 🤔

On October 9 in the USA we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and on October 12 in Argentina, we celebrate the Day of Respect for Cultural Diversity. On these days, we reflect on the past and look forward to a future where all differences are appreciated and celebrated. ✨

As a way of commemorating this day, we put together some tips and best practices for diversity and inclusion when designing that our team tries to use on a daily basis–both for our own content and our work with clients.

A glimpse into our mid-year retreat ✨

A week full of laughs, great food, and most importantly–great work together. We got the chance to get to know the people behind the screen more deeply and workshop our company culture, including the all-important topic of giving and receiving feedback.

We spent each day working side-by-side, as well as alongside some surprise furry coworkers. 🐱

We’re fully remote AND more connected than ever. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

In fact, we take pride in the strong connection we have, not only with each other, but also with our clients. With our skillful and process-based use of the communication tools we have at our disposal, we're able to consistently communicate asynchronously, while optimizing the work we do synchronously. 💪

Picture this: We start the day with our weekly internal sync, followed by a client call. Someone asks a question on Slack, and gets a Loom video in response. Later we work in a Figma file together, using the huddle feature when we have a quick problem to solve together. 💬

We utilized Dribbble's new Case Study feature for the first time to showcase our work for Tigris Data, a serverless data platform that's all about making developers' lives easier. We partnered with our friends at Litebox for this one, as we often do, since we make such a great team! 💪

Our process alongside Tigris included a branding workshop, a full visual branding system, brand book, custom illustrations (by our partner Santi Gatti) and a landing page to showcase it all. Now Tigris has a fresh, unique identity to show off the powerful technology it provides users.
