You surely know the bustling city of Pisa and its famous leaning tower.

But do you know its wine region?

Just beyond the city lies Terre di Pisa: a landscape of rolling hills, medieval villages, cypress-lined roads and vineyards rooted in fossil-rich soils that were once covered by the sea. Here, between the Tyrrhenian coast and the heart of Tuscany, a new generation of winemakers is quietly shaping one of Italy’s most exciting emerging wine regions.

What makes Terre di Pisa so appealing is not only the wine, but the pace. Far from Tuscany’s busiest tourist routes, visitors discover authentic hospitality, vineyard walks, long lunches and a wine culture deeply connected to the landscape.

A destination worth knowing long before everyone else does. Find out more linked in our bio!

For 35 years now, we’ve been telling stories about hedonistic greatness. 35 years after Dorli started the ignition, we sat down together to dig up some of these stories that as a whole became our own. Luckily, we filmed it all. We’d be so very delighted to have you join us on this behind the scenes journey through history - stay tuned!

Last minute sunday trip to gorgeous Carnuntum? Tomorrow promises a very special experience.

On Sunday, 31 May, the Carnuntum Experience kicks off with an open-air celebration on the Spitzerberg in Prellenkirchen.
For one afternoon, Carnuntum’s winemakers invite guests to experience the region far beyond the glass: with wines tasted directly where they grow, relaxed jazz in the background, yoga between the vines, geology walks through the limestone hills, vineyard safaris for children, forest walks, old vineyards, picnic blankets and long golden hours overlooking the landscape.

And naturally, there will be plenty to eat and drink:
from Orts- and Riedenweine by the glass, to creative egg dishes, garden cuisine by Alex Walzer and ice cream from WunderBar.

What makes this event special is its atmosphere.
It is educational without feeling academic, relaxed without lacking substance and deeply rooted in the place itself.
A reminder that wine regions are at their best when they are experienced with all senses.

A delightful summer in three acts, and more than enough reasons to drive to Straden immediately.

This summer, Genussgut Krispel once again transforms its Genusstheater into one of Austria’s most exciting culinary stages.

• Krispel on Fire celebrates dry-aged BIO Wollschwein over open flame: from Secreto to Fledermaus, accompanied by smoke, basalt and long summer afternoons.

• During the Trüffelwochen, three-toque chef Daniel Weißer devotes himself entirely to fresh truffles from Istria and Straden, creating dishes that are refined, generous and deeply aromatic.

• And with Krispel & Meer, the Vulkanland suddenly meets the sea: hand-rolled sushi, sashimi, whole grilled fish and salt-crusted char served in the middle of southeastern Styria.

At Krispel, everything seems to connect effortlessly: the basalt soils, the wines, the cuisine, the farming and the deeply personal hospitality.

A place where craftsmanship, atmosphere and enjoyment come together in a way that feels distinctly, unmistakably Krispel.

You know this feeling, when sit comfortably in a garden, listening to conversations and good tunes, watching the gorgeous scenery, a good of wine in your hand and you just breathe, thinking to yourself: this is what beauty feels like? That’s what being at Weingut Esterhazy’s Wine O’Clock is like:

A Friday evening somewhere between chilled Blaufränkisch, acoustic live music, cellar tours, golden-hour conversations and regional comfort food from the PANNATURA food truck.
Together with Etyeki Kúria, Esterházy pours a by-the-glass selection that moves effortlessly from refreshing and vibrant to elegant and profound; all in the relaxed atmosphere of the estate.
No dress code or rigid tasting order.
Just great wine, great people and that very specific kind of early-summer light that makes you want to stay for one more glass.

A little very genuine tipp: don’t make plans afterwards.

Part two of our VieVinum takeaway:

Connection.

Not the polished kind you plan for, but the real kind, the behind the scenes (watch til the end and you’ll see what we mean.)

The kind that happens when everyone is running on little sleep and pure adrenaline, yet somehow still keeps showing up for each other.

Carrying boxes, labelling bottles, pouring, taking over a stand so someone can finally grab a quick bite, bringing coffee, pouring each other a great glas Sekt at 4 pm to get through the last hours, logistics, making introductions, cleaning, finding solutions.

And then, after long days at the Hofburg, sitting together (or dancing ) deep into the night, opening “just one more bottle”, talking, laughing, reconnecting; only to get up a few hours later and do it all again.

That is VieVinum.

Not just a wine fair, but in many ways a family affair. A reminder that wine is ultimately about people: the ones growing it, pouring it, carrying it, discussing it, sharing it and most of all: loving it and those around it.

And we honestly could not wish for better people to do this with. Our clients, our team.

Until next time, VieVinum.

From Vorarlberg to Burgenland - beer lovers from all across Austria answered the call.
What started as an open casting for the .at turned into something much bigger:
a room full of new faces, stories, personalities and genuine passion for independent beer culture.
We were honestly overwhelmed by how many people applied - and even more by the energy everyone brought to the shoot at Ottakringer brewery in 1160 Vienna.

The first filming day is officially in the can (get it? 🙃)
And we truly can’t wait to share the final campaign with you on the Privatbrauereien channels soon.

Thank you to everyone who came, raised a glass with us: behind every beer are real people, regional roots and a deep love for craftsmanship.

Coming soon on .at ! Prost auf die Freiheit im Glas.

Our biggest takeaway from VieVinum 2026?

Unity.

Not as a slogan but as something genuinely lived throughout the fair.

Between winegrowers, sommeliers, journalists, importers, breweries and regions. Between tradition and new ideas. Between serious conversations and genuine joy.

There are many wine fairs in the world, many of them far larger than VieVinum.
But in many ways, VieVinum remains one of the most beautiful: deeply international, yet remarkably personal. A place where an entire industry comes together not only to taste wine, but to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives - even if vocally - and look for solutions together.

That spirit could be felt everywhere:
in the ÖTW’s commitment to origin and sustainability,
in the United Nations of Blaufränkisch,
in the dialogue between beer and wine at the CulturBrauer Lounge,
in the exciting new chapter of F.X. Pichler Pinot Noir,
and, really, in every hall, among all the vintners, sommerliers, journalists, traders, and friends, united by a passion for this beautiful craft and cultural heritage.

VieVinum reminded us that wine is at its best when it brings people together.

Now revealing the regions.

From Württemberg to Szekszárd, from Moravia to Podravje: the United Nations of Blaufränkisch brings together more than 20 wine regions across Central Europe, all united by one grape variety, many names and countless expressions of origin.

One variety. Many voices.
See them at VieVinum 2026 - from tomorrow to Monday at Hofburg Lounge!
