Over the past week we have received two pieces of feedback regarding posts we have shared in local community groups.
The first was from a group admin reminding me of their once-per-week business posting rule. Completely fair. I appreciated the message and have adjusted accordingly.
The second was less constructive; an anonymous message via our website suggesting we stop posting in certain non-Adelaide groups, expressed in a way that wasn’t particularly respectful. I am sure they are frustrated, but it just lessens the impact of their message.
So I want to clarify something.
The intention behind our posts is not aggressive marketing. We deliberately avoid links, sales pitches, or “contact us now” messaging. The goal is simply to share small, practical digital marketing insights that may help local business owners think more strategically.
That said, relevance matters.
If a group feels that this type of content isn’t appropriate or useful for their members, I’m more than happy to step back. Just send a respectful message and I’ll remove myself from posting there.
We all try to teach our kids about respectful communication online. I believe the same standards apply to adults.
If something doesn’t align, a direct and polite conversation goes a long way.
