Last week I was invited to speak with John Corban of Landscapers Coach and his clients in an 80-minute Zoom session about how to market your landscaping business more effectively.

John’s clients were encouraged to actively participate in the session and asked some very relevant questions about paid advertising, content creation, and websites. I addressed each of these questions during the session and gave some real life examples from my years of working with landscaping businesses around Australia.

Next week, John and I are publishing the highlights of this chat in John’s monthly email.

To receive a copy of the highlights, subscribe now by visiting https://www.landscaperscoach.com.au/ and scrolling down to the sign up form at the bottom of the home page.

Have your social media habits changed recently? 👇

Mine certainly have. I’m becoming more and more intentional about the amount and type of content I consume. For me this means less mindless scrolling, and more engaging with the accounts that bring me the most joy or interest.

My instincts and experience tell me that I’m not alone in this shift. We’re all a bit oversaturated at the moment and as a result need to be a little more savvy about what we put out in the world when marketing our own businesses.

Here’s a few easy shifts you can make if you feel like your own content is losing traction with your audience:

🩵 Quality over quantity. Shift from posting multiple times a week to once a week, and make that post special and impactful. Better yet, make it a reel or a carousel to increase engagement.

🩵 Stories. If you’re struggling to get traction with posts, try setting yourself a challenge to post more to stories. Staying regular on your stories will help to increase engagement with your content overall.

🩵 Ads. If your organic content isn’t reaching new people, try running some ads - preferably with the help of a social media specialist - to broaden your reach.

🩵 Content. If your content is looking and feeling repetitive or old and tired, then investing in a new photo or video shoot is one of the best ways to revive your feed.

I hope these little reminders help steer you in the right direction.

I’m interested to hear if anyone else has felt a similar shift in their own social media consumption?

I had something confirmed today that I’ve long thought was true.

A client of mine, for whom I’d been running lead ads on Meta for many months, asked me to pause their ads as their design pipeline was overflowing and was too much for their small office to take on.

We paused the ads for two months.

And - their leads dried up. The business owner reported back to me today that they’ve all of a sudden become very quiet on the design front.

The moral of this story is one that I have long preached: social media is more powerful than you think. Meta ads have more of an impact than you realise.

If you want to turn the tap off and stop your ads, do it: but be prepared to suffer the lack of leads until you relaunch.

And conversely, if you want the tap turned on so you can have access to on demand leads like this client, choose your social media specialist wisely and you’ll get incredible results which will more than cover the amount spent on ads.

I’ve been too quiet on here.

Why? Because I’ve been in the trenches settling into my “new normal”, and leaning into my role as Brand Manager at and .vic, which I love.

I’ve also been:

✔️ Building a new website for one of my long time clients.
✔️ Creating reels and posts for my 1:1 support clients.
✔️ Proofreading posts for my 1:1 mentoring clients.
✔️ Sourcing and briefing photographers and videographers for shoots both here and interstate.
✔️ Advising on lead generation and nurture strategies to turn new business arms into well-oiled machines.

This winter has been the busiest season of my life and professional career to date. Looking forward to coming up for air in spring! 🌸

I’m here this rainy Tuesday night 🌧️ to remind you of the importance and value of planning for the future when it comes to your marketing.

Business owners can typically be quite reactive when it comes to solving dips in leads and sales: quick fixes are employed to solve short term problems, with little consideration paid to the next potential dip…That’s future you’s problem! 🤦🏼‍♀️

A far better approach is to put a strategy and systems in place to ensure you are marketing consistently throughout the year, with the ability to ramp up or down from that consistent base as needed - rather than treating your marketing as an ad hoc or “as needed” tool for your business, treat it as an essential part, just like HR and accounts.

If you are consistent with your social media and advertising, you’re far less likely to experience those dips: plus, you’re far more likely to hit your business and revenue goals faster.

Food for thought! 💭

I’m fully booked for the foreseeable future, but am committed to staying present and consistent on here with tips and tricks I learn from my work with wonderful business owners around Australia.

June looks a little different for the pups and I this year! We’re currently in the process of moving both office and home, amongst other things - hence why I’ve been uncharacteristically quiet on here 🤐…I’m very excited for what’s ahead for the second half of 2025.

I’m currently fully booked for 1:1 marketing support. If you’re keen for an opportunity to work with me this year, send me a DM and ask to join my waitlist. Those on the waitlist will be the first to know when a spot becomes available to work with me.
