Okie dokie, can we talk about the “Instagram algorithm” for a sec 👀

Because in 2026, it’s not ONE big scary algorithm sitting there judging your content…

Instagram actually uses multiple AI ranking systems depending on where your content is showing:
Feed, Stories, Reels, Explore.

So if you’ve ever felt like:
“Why did this post flop but THAT one popped off?”
You’re not crazy. You’re just posting into different parts of the app that work differently.

Here’s the part you NEED to know:

✨ The top 3 signals Instagram cares about most in 2025 are:

- Watch time
- Likes
- Shares (aka sends in DMs)

And this is the BIG shift…

Likes help your content get shown to your current followers.

But SHARES are what help you reach NEW people.

So if you want growth this year, your goal isn’t “go viral”…

Your goal is to create content that makes someone go:
“OMG wait, I need to send this to my bestie.”

That’s what the algorithm reads as:
This is valuable. This is worth spreading.

Also… Instagram is rewarding ORIGINAL content more than ever.
Not repost accounts. Not copy + paste creators (let's be real these are s**t anyways).
The people showing up as themselves with their own ideas and vibe.
