Congratulations to Kate Mitchell as being selected as a Finalist for the 2023 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award for Western Australia.

Kate aims to create first aid programs and resources (kindergarten to year 10) which are relevant to country life that teach young people to be confident when learning and administering first aid. To establish a rural paediatric health hub that parents and caregivers can access if they need support and information for a range of health topics, particularly for families that need support when a child has been newly diagnosed with a condition.

The winner of the AgriFutures Rural Women's Award for WA will be announced on March 16th, 2023! The winner will also receive a $15,000 business development award to help develop their project and access to professional development opportunities and alumni networks.

1. Follow up, send an email. If youโ€™re purchase was made online these emails can be automated to save more time!

2. Ask for a review or if any further assistance is needed, or simply notify them of another item or deal they may be interested in (that was like 4 tips in 1) ๐Ÿ˜†

4 ways to communicate

1. Tell your story. How did you create your product, how did you get into business? I want to know and so do your customers. Relate to your following by showing what you have been through to show your product or service can help others.

2. Be conversational. Consider your product as another person your customers interact with on social media. Instead of selling your business shift your focus to sharing what you have to offer.

3. Ask customers for feedback. People love to interact with the products they love. Drive conversation by asking for opinions, ideas for new products or service initiatives.

4. Be interactive. Reply or acknowledge comments promptly. Not only does this reinforce your relationship with your followers it can keep your engagement levels.

How did you get to where you are? What do you love about your product? Did you once need the service you now provide?

Your social media strategy could be focused on brand awareness, with the aim of building engagement and follower growth meaning that these metrics are the most important reporting method outcome to be aware of.โ โ €

In comparison, an online stores main priority could be sales, therefore the most important reporting method to focus on would be traffic and actual sales from your social content.โ โ €

What is your point of difference? In what way are the goods and services you offer different to others in the industry?

Here are three ways you can stand out from the crowd!
1. Offer a specialist product or service. Something unique or different you can offer, appealing to trends you have noticed or common needs of your clients.
2. Price difference, this may not mean having the lowest price but having a range of services and products from various price points to suit a larger market.
3. Niche focus. Become a specialist in what it is you have to offer. This can be beneficial to markets that are flooded by having many competitors.

Think before you post. Here are 3 questions to ask yourself before you hit publish.

Does this post add value โ€“ Is your post educational, inspirational or helpful and relevant on a topic or product that relates to your business? Take a moment to think what your follower wants to see from you, what is your purpose and value to them. Then check that your content aligns with your message.

Are you aligned with your brand image โ€“ Think about your brand image, colour and aesthetics. For Instagram specifically, build a consistent look, image and message. Allowing you messages/posts and product/services to create a feeling of uniformity and reliability.

Does this content create a sale - What is the message you are sending? Does your content build trust and connection? Is your post relevant and relatable? Your business is your focus and while social media can help a follower/customer understand what you are offering we need this content to lead to a sale.
