It's easy to oversimplify the importance of colour (that's how we spell color in Straya). When asked "what's the best colour for a CTA button?" I say, for conversion, it's more important to ensure the button colour and text are high contrast.
Excellent visibility is the 1st thing you need to achieve with buttons.
Your designer can then work in their aesthetic and psychological realm to determine colours.

That's your starting point, you can test different colours and likely see incremental differences in conversion but to keep it simple, just keep it visible with high contrast.
