Welcome Sequences. Annual Surveys. Membership Renewal Campaigns.

You probably already know what these are, but do you know how to use them effectively? Do you know how they fit into the membership lifecycle for your association?

We presented in a series of webinars on the membership lifecycle hosted by Answers4Assocs alongside Member Boat. Now, we want to share what we all talked about for anyone who missed out on these webinars.

Check out our article below for the key takeaways on the three key points in the process, which are the welcome sequence, annual surveys and membership renewal campaigns. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Members are the beating heart of associations. Without members, an association wouldn't really be an association, so it's vitally important that members feel valued and personally connected to their organisation.

But how can associations continue to provide this value to their members every year? Engaging and connecting with each of your members, and an engagement campaign is one of the ways you can do this.

At Optimum Contact, we have seen time and time again that connecting with your members on a personal level provides value and leads directly to an increase in renewals, member engagement, and overall satisfaction.

Have a look at our recent blog post for ways to engage and connect with your members, and why it's so important for both you and your members.

Last week we celebrated with Max, Optimum Contact's Dog-Of-All-Trades.

Max was a rescue dog, but landed the role of a lifetime when he picked Colin Perry and Angela McDonald up from Boxer Rescue. He plays a number of important roles at Optimum Contact's Brisbane office including:

• Chief Morale and Happiness Officer - Max makes it his priority to ensure everyone has received Max-imum hugs and kisses on a daily basis. He is always there to give a compassionate lean for any team member that needs a little company.
• Chief Barketing Officer - There is no greater that Max. His puppy eyes can convince anyone for "just one more" scratch.
• Scheduling Manager - Max schedules better than any of us. He knows exactly when it's time to go to work, when it's time to go and get the mail (aka walkies) and when it's time for one of our team members to share lunch with him. He keeps meetings on track by giving us a "gentle" reminder that the meeting has gone on long enough and that it is now time to give him the focus and attention he deserves.

We are so lucky to have had Max choose Colin and Angela. He lights up the office with his presence, and is a huge part of our day-to-day routine. The office just wouldn't be the same without him!

We’re so proud to announce our participation in this year’s Bridge to Brisbane. Alongside our sister company, Optimum Recoveries, we have a huge 30 people ready to run, walk, and waddle to raise money for Foodbank Queensland on Sunday August 29th.

Last year, Foodbank sourced the equivalent of 87.9 million meals for our 2,600 charity partners. These meals help to provide for millions of Aussies who would otherwise go hungry.

If you’d like to help our team meet our goal of $5,000 check out our Bridge to Brisbane page here: https://bridgetobrisbane.gofundraise.com.au/page/optimumteam

The past twelve months has created unprecedented challenges and obstacles for associations to face, bringing levels of financial uncertainty unseen by many. However, despite all these difficulties, many associations have managed to survive thanks to their adaptability and ingenuity.

We looked at the trends that affected associations in the last year to discuss some of the area's associations should focus on while determining their 2021/22 financial year budget. The key areas to focus on to increase membership renewals and engagement are empathising with members, adapting your resources and increasing productivity.

Engagement campaigns are important for any association. They connect you with your current membership base on a more personal and human level, leading to increases in active member engagement, membership renewals, and overall satisfaction for both your association and your members.

At Optimum Contact, our skilled conversationalists provide a friendly human voice for your members to speak to and ask questions. We help you to engage with your members so they feel more valued by your association and a part of something special.

An engagement campaign is designed to help your membership maintain an active and engaged membership base so that your members feel valued, and so they know what they actually get out of their membership. Essentially, an engagement campaign helps to improve the connection that your association has with your members.

At Optimum Contact, we help your association demonstrate value to your members by:
• Promoting membership benefits
• Reinforcing representation efforts
• Gaining feedback from and strategic insights into your current members
• Encouraging attendance and sales at your events
• Offering your long-standing members professional certification.

Do you have budget left over this financial year? This is the sign you've been waiting for...

The end of the financial year is an important time for your association. While you are looking at whether you met your targets, and what you can do differently next financial year, it’s important to remember your goals and priorities.

For many of you, this would be engaging your members. If you have money left in your budget this financial year, consider buying a bank of calls now before campaign prices rise on July 1st. Planning prior to June 30 may also facilitate greater tax deductible opportunities for your organisation.

Call campaigns with Optimum Contact are paramount for building a strong, engaged audience – so why not plan ahead for your next campaign, and save some money while you’re at it?

Have your members met their CPD requirements?

Life can get busy, which is why it's important to make sure to help your members keep track of the requirements that need to be met in order to keep their professional membership valid and up to date.

At Optimum Contact we can assist you to strategically use reporting to check-in with members. Check-ins can help to make members aware of upcoming dates and events, remind members of what your association has to offer them, and also help nudge members who need to meet CPD requirements of upcoming webinars and professional development days to accrue their needed points.

As we come closer to the Christmas holidays and beginning of a New Year, it's a great time to consider whether or not you need a little extra help from Santa's Little Helpers.

At Optimum Contact we know the value of making sure your members are prepared for and find value in renewing their membership for 2021, but with holidays, end of year reports and deadlines, it can be hard to find the time to bring that extra value to your members.

Coming into Christmas, end of year renewals and final check-ins with members for 2020, making sure they are set for 2021, could be valuable connection points for Associations - besides, who doesn't need a little Elf-help at this time of the year to help your association do more with less in a short period of time!
