I’m so proud of my client Rhiannon Walton from Conveniently Active Exercise Physiology. This has been a big week for Rhi, in her first political and media engagements, guided by Short By One, and she aced it all with flying colours. Love it when a client trusts the process and nails all the objectives 💅
📣 Speaking Up for Exercise Physiology and the NDIS 🫶
This morning, I had the opportunity to meet with The Hon. Dr Gordon Reid MP to discuss the current review of the NDIS by the NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee.
If the Committee is not satisfied that Exercise Physiology is effective, offers value for service, cannot be substituted by other supports, and leads to greater independence - they could recommend that EP no longer be compensable under the NDIS.
That’s not something we’re willing to stand for.
Dr. Gordon Reid MP was incredibly supportive of our cause and expressed a genuine willingness to help demonstrate the proven efficacy and value of Exercise Physiology for people living with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions.
A big thank you to Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) for their guidance and support in preparing for this week’s important engagements, including my interview with ABC Central Coast earlier today.
Stay tuned for more updates next week, when I’ll be sharing an open letter explaining what this review means for participants, carers, and providers.
If you follow Conveniently Active, this issue could affect you, and we’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. 💪
Rhiannon ♥️
