Wendy began her music studies on the trumpet in primary school through the SIM program and then won a music scholarship on horn to Perth Modern School. While completing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Western Australia, Wendy received the Elders IXL prize for academic and performing excellence. At the age of 18, Wendy was accepted into the Australian Youth Orchestra and played in Carnegie
Hall, The Royal Albert Hall, The Concertgebouw and The Sydney Opera House. Before completing her music degree, Wendy also began to perform regularly with the W.A Symphony Orchestra. Postgraduate studies included lessons with Dale Clevenger of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and performances with the Civic Orchestra (The training orchestra of the Chicago Symphony) , under Daniel Barenboim and Pierre Boulez, and two residencies at the Australian National Academy of music. Professional engagements include the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide,Queensland,Tasmanian and Australian Chamber Orchestras. Wendy has also performed overseas with the New Zealand, Malaysian and Trondheim (Norway) symphony orchestras. Wendy is currently Principal Horn of the Perth Symphony Orchestra and a regular player with the WASO. As well as being an accomplished horn player, Wendy has had experience in orchestral and musician management. International touring artists performing in Perth have called on Wendy's services to book local musicians to accompany them. Wendy is currently the Entertainment manager for the Inglewood on Beaufort night market. As an in demand horn teacher at high school level, Wendy has successfully taken many students through the WACE horn performance course. Her students have gone on to gain entry into UWA, WAAPA, The West Australian Youth orchestra and into overseas postgraduate courses. Wendy currently holds the positions of Horn tutor at Wesley college and Chisholm catholic college.
