Rams came out on 14th Feb, and we are really happy with how our Redbank FX ewes and rams carry good condition score through our long hot summers. No green grass since October. Just dry feed, some standing crops and stubble. Scanning in late March will tell us how our management is going.

Redbank FX Rams stud ram lamb ……. 7 months old, 77kg and currently putting on 470g/d on some pellets and ad lib hay. No green feed for the last 3 months. You can get great muscling and sub-27 micron with our fine wool composite rams.

Middle of the joining period for our commercial Redbank FX ewes. Plenty of dry feed and an area of standing lupins for this mob. In great condition. Looking forward to seeing the scanning results. Teased for 2 weeks, joining for 5 weeks, avg condition score 3.6 when rams went in.

Rams sorted and heading out with the ewes. Really happy with how our Redbank FX rams are performing. As a maternal composite sheep producer its great to see the multiple income streams working for us - lambs that grow out fast and well muscled, wool that returns a profit after shearing costs, and excess ewe lambs to sell as breeders.

Teasers in with stud ewes. Girls are in great condition. Put on weight during spring and now in summer they just have dry grass left to graze. Rams go in on 9th January. Can’t wait to see the next generation at Redbank FX Rams in June/July.

Galvanised sheep water trough project. Have some C350 purlins I got really cheap. 3.5m long, sweep out design, hinged trough valve cover. Will put a 80mm bottom drain in as well. Coming together nicely, no leaking welds so far! Planning to build 2 for some new containment pens going in shortly.
