Have you ever been scrolling on Instagram and been confused why you're being shown the second slide of a carousel instead of the first? 🤔

Instagram does this to boost engagement! If you've scrolled past a carousel without engaging with it, there is a chance that Instagram will show you the second slide of the carousel to entice you to interact with it.

This means that the second image in a carousel is just as important as the first! It also means there is a chance you could see a bigger jump in engagement on carousels as compared to a traditional, static post 💥

Have you seen Instagram's latest app? 👀

Edits was recently released and it looks like it could rival TikTok's CapCut. Whilst it may seem like just another video editing app, it's much more than that. Edits has been created specifically for Instagram reels, much like how CapCut works best for TikTok.

Edits gives you access to a whole new suite of editing tools which allows you to be more precise. You've got access to new fonts, able to easily browse IG's audio library, add captions, green screen and more. You're also able to schedule reels to post directly from the Edits app! And unlike CapCut, Edits is currently free.

If you know us, then you know we've probably told you to turn on two-factor authentication (2FA). But what is it exactly, and why do we keep talking about it? 🤔

2FA is the only way you can ensure your account and your details *actually* stay secure. It adds an extra layer of protection by requiring you to input a temporary code from a secondary source. That way, hackers don't just need to guess your password to access your account.

There are a few ways to set up 2FA:
→ You can opt to receive a code via text message
→ You can use an authenticator app (we recommend Google or Microsoft Authenticator)

Using an app is the strongest way to keep your account protected, as it eliminates the possibility of your code being intercepted via sms. Authenticator apps also use time-based one-time passwords (TBOTP), meaning that the codes are only valid for a short period of time.

We’ve been using ChatGPT for some time now. Whilst it can seem daunting and overwhelming, in reality it’s a fantastic tool to lean on to help you complete various tasks. We’ve put together some basic tips and tricks on getting the most out of ChatGPT ✨

→ We recommended turning off any model improvement settings. This will ensure any content you input into ChatGPT won’t be used to train the model further and your data stays protected. Find this in settings under ‘data control.’

→ Create your own personalised ChatGPT’s. This can take a little extra work to set up, but we promise it’s worth it. For example, you can set up a dedicated ChatGPT to help you create quotes or write ad copy.

→ Use ChatGPT to help summarise literally anything. From meeting notes, to emails, to lengthy documents. It’s a timesaver.

→ Turn your summaries into action points! Ask ChatGPT to create action points from your summaries and easily add them to your to-do list. That way you can spend more time actually doing the work instead of spending time breaking down everything.

Our view on ChatGPT is that it’s a tool to increase productivity, not replace work. What’s your favourite way to use ChatGPT?

🚨 The countdown is on!🚨 With only 9 days to go until Google Analytics switches from Universal Analytics (UA) to Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

If you want to keep tracking your website traffic, you NEED to switch!
✔️UA will not work after June 30.
✔️GA4 offers more data protection and privacy control
✔️ More cross-device tracking, so you can learn more about your customers
✔️Machine-learning for insights about all the hot trends
✔️Sync with Google Ads
✔️Goals will be replaced by “Conversion Events”. You’ll be able to track a wider range of actions and get more insights into how people interact with you. In the future, you can create custom Conversion Events.

The downside:
❌GA4 doesn't hold onto your data forever. Unlike UA, GA4 will eventually start purging your data, so make sure you're backing it up if you want historic data to look back on

You know what though? It's so easy to swap! If you've already got a tracking code on the website, google will use this to set you up a GA4 property with just a few clicks! It will automatically start tracking under your brand new GA4 property, all ready for June 30.

Essentially, GA4 is completely new software, re-imagining data collection and analysis for your business. So the time to switch over is NOW! If you are lost or overwhelmed by analytics, send us a DM, we’re here to help.😀

Is your not-for-profit or charity-registered organisation using Google Ads Grants?💸

If approved, you could receive up to $13,000 AUD per month for search based advertising to support your cause.

Whats not to love? 🥰

✔️Google Ad Grants can work in conjunction with traditional paid google ad marketing so your company can extend their impact.

✔️ You’ll still have access to all your targeting features, great for local and regional businesses to access a larger advertising spend for greater impact within a specific area. In fact, small, local Grantees that use location-specific keywords and targeting may show before large, national organisations.

No, there is no joint investment commitment, and no additional ad spend requirement. There's also no rollover for each month’s unspent grant funds, so you’ll have to be content with a meagre $13,000 AUD for your monthly spend.

There are some rules though on what services can be advertised.🚨 If you would like to check in and see if your organisation could access Google Grants and grow your impact within the community, talk to us and we'll do our best to help.
