National Reconciliation Week, held from today (27 May) to 3 June, is a time to listen, learn and reflect on the role we each play in reconciliation. This year’s theme, All In, reminds us that meaningful change happens when we move forward together with intention, respect and action.

For , it’s a timely reminder to keep learning, seek out First Nations perspectives and consider how we can contribute to reconciliation through the work we do, the stories we help tell and the communication we support.

In Queensland, more than 59,000 Queenslanders are on the social housing waitlist and over 21,000 people each night experience homelessness – these numbers have never been higher.

The annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout is back, and our Chairman Geoff Rodgers will be rolling out his piece of cardboard at Roma Street Parkland on Thursday 18 June for his 16th year in a row. Through the support of many generous donors, Geoff has raised more than $660,000 over the years to help those who need it most in our community.

Funds raised this year will go towards supporting Vinnies 500 Homes project, the largest housing investment in the Society’s history, to help break the cycle of homelessness in Queensland.

April, you were a good one.
kept the creative brain firing with a colour theory session in the office and a trip to QUT Gallery for the Jemima Wyman retrospective because great work starts with great inspiration.

We also went behind the camera to film and interview Olympian Sally Pearson for a media opportunity with young athletes. And, to round it out, we got out and about in the 50-cent way, taking the for tapas, sangria and some well-earned sobremesa with the team.
