From sea to shelf — a proudly local story, brought to life through design thinking and brand storytelling.
Introducing East Coast Tuna Co., a purpose-led brand built from the ground up to reflect the integrity of its product: sustainably line-caught albacore tuna, caught and owned by Australian fishing families.
In a category long dominated by legacy brands and crowded with visual noise, Neon was engaged to create a brand that could cut through with confidence — not by shouting louder, but by standing for something more meaningful.
We began by establishing a strategic foundation rooted in provenance, transparency and local pride. From here, we collaborated with the client to develop the brand name which flowed through to the visual identity, tone of voice and packaging — ensuring every element was considered, cohesive, and true to the story we were telling.
The wordmark was designed to be bold yet reductive — a confident visual anchor that speaks to simplicity and strength. Language was carefully crafted to reflect honesty and approachability, while the packaging system prioritised clarity, navigation and trust. Subtle, hand-drawn elements were incorporated to introduce a sense of craft and warmth, softening a category often defined by utility.
Every decision was intentional — from the hierarchy of information to the considered use of colour and space — building a brand that feels fresh yet familiar, and ready to take its place on shelf.
The result is a brand with purpose and restraint, packaging with real presence, and a story that connects at every level — from the ocean, to the families behind the catch, to the everyday Australian pantry.
