When I started my business I wanted to build something sustainable that felt exciting to wake up to every day.

And in the beginning, it did.

But when you don’t have:
- clear positioning
- strong boundaries
- intentional offers
- structured systems
- aligned client expectations

…it becomes really easy to slowly slip into being emotionally employed by your clients instead.

And the scary part is… you don’t realise it’s happening at first.

You just slowly become:
- constantly available
- overly accommodating
- afraid to step away from your laptop
- dependent on saying yes to everyone

Until one day your business no longer feels freeing. It feels heavy.

I remember realising my income depended on how available I was at all times.

Every notification felt like pressure.
Every day off felt expensive.
Every boundary felt uncomfortable.

And the more clients I signed, the more trapped I actually felt.

That was a huge wake-up call for me.

Because I realised I hadn’t built a sustainable business.
I had rebuilt a different kind of employment.

When Jesse told me she was launching , I was SO excited for her. But when she started walking me through the vision for the brand… I remember thinking okay wow, this is going to be such a fun website!!

So many brands are leaning into very minimal, clean visuals right now, but she went the complete opposite direction - bold, quirky, vintage-inspired graphics that feel memorable, creative and full of personality.

If you’re a content creator, your brand should make people feel something and actually stick in their minds… and this one absolutely does.

Because Jesse is in marketing herself, she had a really strong vision from the beginning. Which made this project such a fun challenge creatively. I loved collaborating with her and bringing all the different ideas together in a way that still felt strategic and user-friendly.

Even with all the layered graphics and visual elements, I designed the website very intentionally with user experience in mind making sure it flowed well, translated beautifully across mobile and desktop, had strong messaging and structure, and was set up with important SEO foundations behind the scenes too.

I’m grateful to have played a small part in launching this business for her 🤍

Projects like this remind me why I love working with people in this industry so much. Creative, passionate business owners with bold ideas are my favourite kind of clients to build for.
