Let's be honest, a morning routine/ritual sounds a little bit w***y. But according to many experts out there, having a morning ritual helps to not only make you more bulletproof and resilient to stresses throughout the day, but gives you a shot of calm and allows you to interact with the world in a much more compassionate & calm way.
There's heaps of information out there on this topic, so much so that it's hard to fit into a tiny social media post. But I first heard of this from a Deliciously Ella podcast episode (of course), where she interviewed Hal Elrod, the author of The Miracle Morning. In it he went into a deep dive about how he came up with the concept and why it's so life-changing.
So after listening to this episode, I made a New Years resolution (lol) to wake up a bit earlier and develop a morning routine. I've been doing this for the last month or so (on & off, I still struggle in the morning big time), and I can't say my life has fully changed yet. But I can tell you that the days I take time to do my own little morning ritual are the days that I'm calmest, happiest & most productive.
So without further adieu, here are Hal Elrod's, Dr Rangan Chatterjee's & also my own version of a morning routine.
