The wheels are starting to turn for defence industry, especially in Queensland. Hearing all about the opportunities for defence work was a sell-out room of construction professionals at Queensland Major Contractors Association (QMCA)'s Defence Breakfast yesterday morning.

Our Defence Lead and Shadow Catalyst, Mark Purcell AM, talked about what the defence landscape in Australia looked like 10 years ago and where we are heading now, with effectively trillions of dollars being poured into defence over the next few decades.

Excellent presentations from Defence Consultant Malcolm Catchpole and Don Roach, AM of Queensland Government, and a knowledgeable panel discussion including James Pascoe, Defence Lead at Webuild Clough who sponsored this event. All spoke about the need for businesses to be patient and agile. The defence opportunities in this state are real.

Make the most of pull-out text using these tips:
✅ Do:
• Use pull-outs for important messages, quotes or stats
• Use pull-outs to break up monotony and add visual interest to your page.
❌ Don’t:
