BADC 2023 / Bronze Winner 🥉 / Brand Refresh

Brimble is a family-owned rail maintenance contractor from the Hunter Valley making a name for itself in the industry. With three generations in rail, the brand needed to communicate its strong legacy and focus on homegrown innovation.

The brand refresh sought to modernise the visual identity, elevating it to compete against larger players. Inspired by the track resurfacing process, we looked at materials & textures, blending the idea of a tangible process with strength, trust and innovation. The icon takes the idea of rail tracks, 3 generations of rail for Brimble and the 3 main railway gauges in Australia that they service. This along with the “B” and an arrow concept representing the process of rail alignment create a solid, bold & trustworthy mark that truly represents and elevates Brimble. A strong black & white core palette, with the introduction of a vibrant ‘Aussie true blue’ adds approachability and differentiation.

Stranger Films is an award-winning video production company creating bespoke onscreen experiences. With a powerful trio of research, strategy and design, we focused the brand around the stories they tell. And not just any stories, but remarkable stories that can only be told because of Stranger's unique capabilities.

Their brand refresh needed to feel premium and trustworthy while retaining the art-house vibe. Refined and sharp, with just the right amount of quirk, the new icon mixes technical film elements like focus testing patterns to clarify and reveal detail - with the craft of narrative around the name Stranger. With a nod to the film reel, ‘the curious stranger’ prompts curiosity and intrigue, ready to tell remarkable stories.

This year we are nominated for our brand refresh work for both Stranger Films and Brimble. Even better, we couldn’t think of two more deserving companies for these nominations. Our team's passion for these brands across strategy, design, copy and web was unmissable.

In this project we worked alongside the Approved Farming Scheme team to relaunch the RSPCA Approved site; with a focus on connecting with Australian farmers alongside retail consumers, as well as celebrating 25 years of the Approved Farming Scheme. 🎉
