Why has DTF taken over from screen printing for most custom merch?

Screen printing setup only pays for itself over big runs, so small orders have always been overpriced or turned away.

DTF transfers removes the setup entirely: one shirt costs the same per unit as fifty. Add in full-colour capability and no fabric restrictions, and it's simply the more practical option for the way most businesses order their merch.
