Ok, so I'm mildly obsessed with the flooding of Lake Eyre at present. Definitely one for the bucket list.

We were lucky enough to witness one of Australia’s great natural events recently, with floodwaters travelling over 1,000 kilometres down the Diamantina–Warburton river system, and entering into Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre on our Kalamurina Wildlife Sanctuary. This is one of the most spectacular photos we’ve seen of this natural event. AWC’s Kalamurina Wildlife Sanctuary provides a refuge for rare and threatened desert wildlife, such as the Crest-tailed Mulgara and the Dusky Hopping Mouse.

Wouldn't this be amazing? Sailing in the Australian outback- what a thing! And I can't love that they have a Lake Eyre Yacht Club enough :)

Apparently out in this desert lake it's hard to tell where the water ends and the sky begins, giving the feeling of sailing in the sky.
