This w end I chose joy over discomfort — and it was worth every uncertain step. 💃

I’ve been thinking about this question:

⚖️ Is the cost of joy a little discomfort?

Or…

✨ Is the reward of stepping into discomfort the joy waiting on the other side?

Recently I’ve been reflecting on what truly lights me up, and without a doubt, a little spin on the dance floor is right up there.💃

So this weekend, I made it happen. I stepped outside my comfort zone, said yes, connected with some like-minded women, and joined them at an awesome afternoon dance party.

And honestly? It was exactly what I needed.

Sometimes we have to move beyond our usual routines to create space for the things that bring us joy. If we wait until it feels completely comfortable, we might miss out on the moments that make us feel most alive.

Was it worth it?

Absolutely. 💃✨

💡I think one of the biggest lessons to learn is that boundaries aren’t about keeping people out—they’re about making room for what matters most.

👩‍🏫I also know that the right people won’t need you to abandon yourself to keep them comfortable.

⏳A work in progress but every small boundary I honour feels like choosing myself a little more. 🤍

🤔I’ve been thinking about this quote lately.

Knowing yourself isn’t just discovering what you like or what you’re good at. It’s having the courage to be completely honest with yourself.

⁉️It’s asking:
What am I pretending not to know?
What am I afraid to admit?
Am I living according to my values, or according to other people’s expectations?

🗣️Self-awareness isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it means acknowledging that you’ve been seeking validation instead of connection. That you’ve said yes when you wanted to say no. That you’ve stayed quiet to keep the peace. That you’ve shaped yourself into someone you thought others would accept.

That kind of honesty can feel confronting.

But it’s also where freedom begins.

⚖️Because the more clearly you see yourself—your values, your fears, your patterns, your strengths—the less you need the world to define you.

You stop chasing approval and start choosing alignment.

Maybe that’s why knowing yourself is one of life’s greatest challenges.

It asks you to trade comfort for truth.

And in doing so, it gives you back your identity.
