Part 7 of Marielle's story.
Marielle didn't think she needed the check-ins.
She is not, she would have told you several months ago, someone who needs ongoing support for getting dressed. She is a CFO. She runs due diligence processes. She manages operational complexity across multiple organisations. She has a Masters to complete and a passive income strategy to build and a partner and a ballet class and precisely no spare hours in which to be hand-held through her wardrobe.
She started the Monthly Advisory Calls because they were in the 6-month Magnificence package. I got the feeling she did not expect to find them useful.
She thought the calls were about getting dressed. I describe them as staying "calibrated".
Marielle's life is changing. It has been changing since the moment she started moving into new professional rooms - CFO role, the Masters, the operations work, where she wants to take her wealth and what she wants to do with it. Her wardrobe needing to move with her, not lag behind. The monthly calls are the mechanism that keeps it current.
They are also something else. Something she finds harder to name.
Maybe the check ins are a standing appointment with the version of herself she is becoming. The timeslot to consider not just what she's wearing but where she's pointing. What's coming. What she needs to be ready for. What's changed since last time.
She has mentioned the passive income strategy on several calls now. The women's wealth initiative she wants to fund. The way the economic uncertainty has shifted her thinking about what security actually means - that it is not a salary, however comfortable, but a structure. That she is building a structure.
These monthly calls, it turns out, are part of the structure.
She had been operating, for most of her professional life, on high performance and controlled self-sufficiency. Which is a very effective strategy until the environment changes faster than the strategy can adapt. The world is changing very fast. She is changing with it. Having someone who understands her, her palette, her shape, her life, her direction - someone she can regularly discuss options and say,
"I have an event coming up, help me think about how I show up for it."
It's not a luxury.
It is, she has concluded, exactly the kind of investment she should have been making years ago.
Marielle would not have believed you if you'd told her that a few months ago.
But she believes it now.
(Monthly Advisory Calls begin after your Personal Style Consultation and run throughout your Magnificence package - and beyond, for clients who want to keep the thinking live.)
