Would you let a stranger write your entire website without checking if it sounds like you?

Probably not.

Yet many businesses now publish AI-generated content without reviewing, editing or personalising it.

AI can be an excellent tool for ideas, outlines and first drafts. But if your website sounds generic, vague or the same as everyone else, it may not build much trust.

The best content combines efficiency with real experience. Add your own examples, local knowledge, practical advice and business personality.

Think of AI as an assistant, not a replacement for your expertise.

When people read your content, can they hear your real voice and experience behind it?

Would you trust a shop where the window display had not changed for years?

Maybe not.

An outdated website can create the same impression.

When your latest blog post, news update or case study is several years old, potential customers may wonder whether your business is still active.

Regular content also helps SEO because every new article gives Google another opportunity to understand what your business does and what topics you are relevant for.

You do not need to publish every day. Even one useful article a month can make a difference over time.

A static website rarely grows. An active one has more chances to attract new visitors.

When was the last time you added something useful to your website?

Would you trust a business more if other reputable people recommended it?

Most of us would.

Google works in a similar way.

When other websites link to your website, those links can act like recommendations. They help Google understand that your site is useful, credible and worth paying attention to.

Without backlinks, ranking for competitive keywords can be much harder, even if your content is good.

This does not mean chasing spammy links. Quality matters. A link from a relevant business, directory, partner, industry website or local publication is far more valuable than random low-quality links.

How many trustworthy websites are currently recommending yours?

Would you write a sign for your shop using words your customers never use?

Probably not.

Yet many websites do this with their content.

If your website does not target the phrases people actually type into Google, it becomes much harder for your ideal customers to find you.

Good SEO starts with understanding real search behaviour. What are people looking for? What problems do they need solved? What location terms do they use?

Once you know your focus keywords, you can create pages and articles that match those searches.

Without keyword research, SEO becomes guesswork.

Do you know the most important search terms your business should be targeting?

Would you collect customer contact details and then never speak to those people again?

Probably not.

Yet many businesses have past customers, old enquiries and interested prospects sitting in a database with no regular communication.

Email marketing is still one of the most cost-effective ways to stay in touch because you are communicating with people who already know something about your business.

A helpful monthly email, useful tip, offer or update can remind people that you exist and bring enquiries back to life.

Unlike paid ads, you are not paying for every single click.

Are you using your email list, or is one of your most valuable marketing assets sitting unused?

Would you keep all your customer enquiries on sticky notes scattered across your desk?

Probably not.

Yet many businesses manage leads in a very similar way.

Enquiries come in through email, phone, website forms, Facebook messages and referrals. Without a proper system, it becomes very easy to forget who needs a follow-up, who asked for a quote and who was ready to buy.

A CRM does not have to be complicated. At its simplest, it is a place to store leads, track conversations and set reminders.

When every lead has a clear status, fewer opportunities disappear.

Do you know exactly where every enquiry in your business stands today?

It was a pleasure to moderate the panel discussion:
“Why Your Lead Gen Is Broken — and What’s Actually Working Now?”

A big thank you to our panellists, Bianca Edgar, Brijesh Munyal and Darshan Parmar, for sharing their experience and valuable perspectives.

We discussed how changing customer behaviour, AI, evolving search platforms, trust and the overall customer journey are reshaping lead generation. We also explored why marketers need to look beyond lead volume and cost per lead to better understand lead quality, pipeline contribution and business outcomes.

Thank you to , the Intrigue MAdVerse team and everyone who joined us for such an engaging discussion.

It was a pleasure to take part in the 53rd Intrigue MAdVerse Brisbane and moderate the panel discussion:
“Why Buying Decisions Are Taking Longer — and What Marketers Can Do About It.”

A big thank you to our panellists, Nat Pacheco, Laura McMahon and Renee Bidwell, for sharing their experience and insights on changing buyer behaviour, building trust, reducing friction and helping customers make more confident decisions.

The conversation reinforced that effective marketing is not simply about generating more leads. It is also about staying visible, communicating value clearly and creating a consistent experience throughout the entire customer journey.

Thank you to and the Intrigue MAdVerse team for the opportunity, and to everyone who attended and contributed to such an engaging session. It was wonderful to connect with so many marketing professionals and business leaders.

Would you put your business sign on only one street and ignore every other road nearby?

Probably not.

Yet many businesses create content and only post it on one platform.

Some customers use Facebook. Others prefer Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube or Google. If you only publish in one place, your content may be reaching just a small part of your audience.

You do not need to create something completely new for every platform. A useful post, video or tip can often be adapted and republished in several places.

This makes your content work harder without multiplying your workload.

Are you getting the most value from every piece of content you create?

Would you walk into a shop, ask a question and have the staff completely ignore you?

Probably not.

Yet many businesses do exactly that on social media.

People leave comments, send direct messages and ask questions about products or services. If those messages sit unanswered, the customer may simply contact someone else.

Social media is not just a place to post updates. It is also a customer service and lead generation channel.

Even a short reply can show that your business is active, professional and easy to deal with.

Ignoring comments is a bit like letting the phone ring without answering it.

How quickly does your business respond to comments and direct messages on social media?
