You Can Count on a Queenslander

You Can Count on a Queenslander Celebrating Queensland We’re proud of who we are and what we’ve achieved, and the truth is we know things are a little different north of the border.

You Can Count on a Queenslander is a statement that connects strongly with all Queenslanders and transcends across the demographics of age, gender, economics and political view. Others may say we’re a “parochial lot” and they may be right because there's a common bond with Queenslanders that runs deep. We cherish our lifestyle and diversity, our passion for a fair go, and when times are tough our Queensland spirit shines through. Help us celebrate being Queenslanders.

EACH YEAR QASSP presents the Bill McClintock Medal to a member who has contributed by networking with and supporting others, particularly in regional and remote areas. The award honours Life Member Bill McClintock, who the day after he retired as principal of Bardon State School in July 1993, set off in a purpose-built motorhome on an adventure that would last until 2001. Bill travelled across the state offering support to school leader colleagues while working as a supply teacher and representative of conference partner EDSCO. Mark Allen – our latest award recipient – has taken the opportunity to catch up with Bill while visiting the Sunshine Coast on holiday.
