Levelling up social-emotional skills. 🎮

Researchers are harnessing the power of games to nurture positive behaviours in children.

Biobot Academy is part of our Industry PhD (iPhD) program, combining our research and technology with Griffith University and Hyper Theory to empower the next generation.

Our iPhD Program brings together an industry partner and a university with our specialised expertise, equipment and training to co-develop a four-year PhD project. Kristin Magarry is the iPhD student working on Biobot Academy.

"My project is all about empathy. Our team is creating an innovative educational program that helps children improve their empathy and self-regulation skills by using technology and fun games to engage them."

With Kristin's research and help from all three partners, Biobot Academy will develop online modules for primary school children, mapped to the Australian Curriculum, that support the development of social and emotional coping skills.

Yesterday some of the HT team were on site at a primary school in Brisbane with the Social Marketing Team from Griffith delivering the Biobots Academy game.

Biobots Academy has been produced to educate children on prosocial behaviours and to learn new ways of coping and tackling decision making during stressful moments.

We learnt a lot throughout the creative game design journey and cannot wait to see where the game goes next!

We have grand plans for Biobots and cannot wait to get them all underway

A snippet of Cheer Club from TheraPlay.TV, a project that is near and dear to our hearts.

Team HT produced, designed, animated and edited all episodes for the TheraPlay.TV team. Not only that, we also designed and developed their custom website and apps for both iOS and Android platforms.
