📻 Some voices have been part of the audio industry for so long, they've witnessed entire generations of media evolve.

Murray is one of them.

A voiceover artist, radio announcer, and producer for decades, Murray likes to joke that he started his career when The Carpenters were still topping the charts. Since then, he's built an impressive career behind the microphone, becoming a trusted voice for businesses and organisations across Australia.

Today, Murray regularly records message on hold and IVR productions for McGirvanmedia clients, including Surf Life Saving Foundation, Minor Hotels, and the Rexel Group. His calm, professional delivery and wealth of experience make him a popular choice for organisations looking to create a polished customer experience.

But broadcasting and voiceover are just part of the story.

Murray is also passionate about Queensland's film and television history and is currently researching and writing a book documenting the state's iconic filming locations and their stories.

When he's not recording or researching, Murray and his wife enjoy travelling to visit their children who live overseas. They're also dedicated animal lovers and can often be found attending cat shows with their much-loved Maine C***s and Ragdoll cats.

And for those who enjoy a good piece of trivia...

Murray's first acting role was as an extra on The Love Boat back in 1981. Proof that his connection to the entertainment industry goes well beyond the recording booth!

Meet some of our furry co-workers... 🐶💻

Over the years, we've introduced quite a few four-legged members of the McGirvanmedia team. Some have since retired from office life, while these are the current crew keeping us company each day. 🐾

One of the perks of working from home? Having these furry colleagues by our side.

They don't answer the phones.
They don't write scripts.
They definitely don't help with production.

But they do take their roles as supervisors very seriously. Whether it's keeping an eye on us during meetings, reminding us to take a break, or simply making us smile, they certainly earn their keep.

Six incredible athletes are taking on a challenge that has never been attempted before, running 4,000 kilometres continuously from Cottesloe Beach in WA to Bondi Beach in NSW to raise awareness and funds for Beyond DV, supporting women rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic and family violence.

Someone in our team is fortunate enough to know one of the athletes involved, which makes following this journey even more special.

🎙️ Behind every voiceover is a person.

A real person with talent, experience, and a story behind the microphone.

Meet Lisa-Jane (LJ).

LJ began her voiceover career at just 18 years of age and has since become one of Australia's most versatile and experienced voice artists. Over the years, she has voiced thousands of projects across radio, television, documentaries, character animation, websites, and messages on hold (perhaps even yours).

Known for her warm, friendly, and engaging delivery, LJ has a natural ability to connect with audiences and bring scripts to life.

Before focusing on voiceovers full-time, LJ was a familiar voice on Breakfast Radio and later created web content for Tourism Queensland's Live Australia's Stories campaign, including her own series, LJ's Outback Adventure. More recently, she hosted the podcast Kindness and Other Stuff, featuring conversations with everyday people and their unique stories.

When she's not behind the microphone, LJ enjoys making the most of Queensland's outdoors with swimming, kayaking, yoga, and walking.
