This morning we were in the room for something that doesn’t come around often.
The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Procurement Opportunities briefing brought together Sunshine Coast businesses, Sunshine Coast Council, the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee and the Queensland Government to talk about what’s ahead for our region.
And the picture is big.
The Sunshine Coast is set to host competitions at the upgraded Sunshine Coast Stadium, a brand new Mountain Bike Centre, and an Athletes Village and Exhibition Centre at Maroochydore. On top of that, The Wave rail connection linking Beerwah through to the Airport is on the cards.
With around $2.5 billion on offer and roughly 500 procurement opportunities available, the door is very much open for local SMEs to get involved. Business.gov.au
The message from this morning was clear. Brisbane 2032 wants to be a Games delivered by Queenslanders, and local businesses need to start preparing now.
At The Ageing Sea, we’re already thinking about what that means for the brands and businesses we work alongside. A once-in-a-generation spotlight on our region is exactly the kind of moment where a strong brand, a compelling story, and a polished presence will make the difference between being noticed and being overlooked.
If you’re a Sunshine Coast business thinking about how to position yourself for what’s coming, let’s have a conversation.
