INVERELL LIVESTOCK REPORT
Tuesday 2nd June.

CATTLE: Inverell penned 810 good quality cattle a reduction of 1283 head. Trends generally positive with regular buyers attending and operating strongly. Light weaner steers much dearer to background 480c to 596c/kg with similar heifers selling to a cheaper trend 380c to 454c/kg. Weaner heifers to 280kgs were 17c/kg better 420c to 470c/kg. Similar processors sold to 456c/kg. Medium steers to feed gained 49c/kg 536c to 548c/kg and heavy feeders to 536c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to process sold to 420c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed lifted 9c/kg 450c to 478c/kg. Similar backgrounders considerably dearer 350c to 472c/kg. Medium feeder heifers 28c/kg better 450c to 530c/kg. Heavy feeders were 31c/kg dearer 484c to 520c/kg. Limited grown steers to process 420c/kg to 434c/kg equivalent heifers 432c to 470c/kg. Cows to the paddock 226c to 360c/kg. Two and three score cows firm 352c to 410c/kg. Prime heavy cows to 35c/kg dearer 410c to 442c/kg. Heavy bulls lifted 4c/kg 340c to 410c/kg. Yearling feeder bulls 376c to 384c/kg

INVERELL LIVESTOCK REPORT
Tuesday 26th May.

CATTLE: Inverell penned 2093 mixed cattle 357 down on last sale. The regular buyers attended and competed to strong trends for the most part. All cows were dearer. Weaner steers under 200kgs much dearer 380c to 556c/kg and weaner steers to 280kgs considerably dearer 468c to 560c/kg all to background. Heifer weaners to 280kgs significantly dearer 340c to 470c/kg also to the paddock. Light yearling steers to feed slipped 5c/kg making to 488c/kg. Medium steers to feed were 4c/kg better 410c to 526c/kg conversely drafts to 480kgs to feed slipped 12c/kg 480c to 492c/kg. Light heifers to the paddock gained 8c/kg 300c to 438c/kg and similar feeder much dearer 452c to 465c/kg. Medium feeder heifers to 31c/kg dearer 392c to 492c/kg. Heavy heifers to process were dearer 326c to 400c/kg. Grown heifers to process 27c/kg better 326c to 400c/kg. Cows to the paddock 236c to 312c/kg. Medium cows to process 236c to 372c/kg with heavy cows 15c to 30c/kg dearer 352c to 420c/kg. Heavy bulls slipped 3c/kg 370c to 414c/kg.

INVERELL LIVESTOCK REPORT
19th May.

CATTLE: Inverell penned 2540 good quality cattle similar to last sale. One cow buyer absent however two absentee buyers returned along with an extra feeder operator. The resulting competition among these and the usual regular buyers saw strong trends for most categories. Weaner steer under 200 kgs were much dearer 400c to 500c/kg conversely similar heifers slipped considerably 330c to 365c/kg. Weaner steers to feed 442c to 498c/kg to post a 30c/kg gain. Yearling steers to 280kgs saw a positive result of 6c/kg 374c to 458c/kg. Medium steers to feed up to 48c/kg better 398c to 514c/kg. The background section of that draft down 26c/kg 440c to 470c/kg. Heifers to 280kgs to background 302c to 406c/kg. Medium feeder heifers lifted 14c/kg 369c to 458c/kg. Heavy heifers to process 374c to 450c/kg. The heavy feeder drafts lost 6c/kg 402c to 438c/kg. Grown heifers to 540kgs to process gained 26c/kg 320c to 376c/kg. Re-stocker cows dearer 230c to 318c/kg with medium processors gaining 12c/kg 220c to 345c/kg. Two and three score cows dearer 318c to 328c/kg. Prime heavy cows to 21c/kg better 368c to 406c/kg. Heavy bulls to process much dearer 368c to 420c/kg. Yearling bulls to feed 330c to 370c/kg.

SHEEP / LAMBS: Inverell penned a minimal offering owing to frequent rain events through the drawing area. It consisted of 1708 lambs and 895 grown sheep. Competition was mixed with limited pens of store lambs and a good offering of finished lambs. Trends varied with heavier lambs selling to dearer trends and grown sheep to a cheaper result. Dorper lambs to the store trade $110 to $220/head the crossbreds to $210/head. Trade Merino lambs $219 to $240/head. Crossbred lambs to 24 kgs cwt were $19/head dearer $275 to $300/head and Dorper lambs cheaper $180 to $280/head. The tables were turned when Dorper lambs in the 26kg cwt bracket sold to $5/head dearer $265 to $278/head. Heavy 30kg cwt crossbred lambs much dearer $270 to $390/head and a heavy pen of crossbred lambs made to $442/head. Hoggets $136 to $142/head. Medium ewes $177 to $210/head heavy ewes $250 to $300/head. Wethers $150 to $240/head and meat rams$120 to $140/head.

Tuesday 21st April.

CATTLE: Inverell penned 4180 mixed cattle a decline in numbers of 379 head with cows dominating numbers in the offering. The regular buyers attended to a varied market which saw light cows to the paddock selling to dearer trends and limited interest in light yearlings and weaners. Light weaner steers much cheaper 220c to 384c/kg similar heifers 150c to 190c/kg all to re-stockers. Medium steers to feed down 21c/kg 290c to 462c/kg conversely heavy feeders much dearer 280c to 458c/kg. Feeder steers over 480kgs lost 4c/kg making to 436c/kg. Light heifers to process gained 11c/kg 220c to 338c/kg. Light heifers to background much cheaper 154c to 194c/kg a lack of quality and weight a major factor. Medium heifers to feed on resulted in a 21c/kg downward correction 330c to 414c/kg. Heavy feeders appreciated 26c/kg 370c to 448c/kg. Grown heifers to feed 260c to 384c/kg and processor heifers made to 356c/kg. Light cows to the paddock gained 10c/kg 100c to 284c/kg. Medium processing cows were dearer 292c to 310c/kg. Heavy cows were back 10c/kg 290c to 340c/kg. Heavy bulls shed 13c/kg selling 310c to 384c/kg.

SHEEP / LAMBS: Inverell penned 2810 grown sheep and 3688 lambs an overall increase of 2253 head. It was a good offering of lambs although trends varied with a decline in some lamb results and a much cheaper result for grown sheep. Store competition increased to send lambs to the Riverina area of NSW. Very light lambs to the paddock $88 to $112/head heavier drafts $140 to $192/head and culminating in the best store lambs $238 to $282/head to be mostly dearer. Merino lambs to the paddock $92 to $112/head. Trade lambs dearer $170 to $200/head. Heavy trades also dearer $240 to $274/head. Lambs to 30kgs cwt gained $7/head and lambs over 30kgs cwt were cheaper $320 to $370/head. Heavy hoggets $203 to $280/head. Grown sheep were cheaper throughout with light ewes $92 to $170/head. Medium ewes $118 to $220/head and heavy ewes $225 to $290/head. Wethers $122 to $313/head and meat rams $90 to $156/head.

CATTLE: Inverell penned 4559 mixed cattle an increase of 1492 head with over 2000 cows which dominated the offering. Trends were cheaper for the cow category with one major operator not purchasing and his feeder competition also missing. Young cattle resulted in varied trends with Victorian and South Australian competition in the mix for background and processor interest. Weaner steers under 200kgs were cheaper 220c to 500c/kg heifers lifted 19c/kg 340c to 375c/kg. Medium feeder steers to 11c/kg cheaper and feeders to 480kgs much cheaper 330c to 490c/kg. Processors 364c to 402c/kg. Background heifers to 280kgs gained 23c/kg 250c to 400c/kg medium feeders dearer 290c to 438c/kg. Heavy feeders 370c to 424c/kg. Processor heifers 352c to 368c/kg. Heavy heifers to background were dearer 390c to 429c/kg Grown heifers to process dearer 346c to 422c/kg. No numbers of grown steers to quote. Light cows to the paddock 50c to 222c/kg and medium cows back to the paddock 135c to 280c/kg. Heavy processor cows were 8c to 11c/kg cheaper 260c to 352c/kg. Heavy bulls down 28c/kg 320c to 424c/kg.

Tuesday 7th April.

CATTLE: Inverell penned 3140 mixed cattle a reduction of 1061 head from last sale with a large drop in cow numbers. The regular buyers attended to a varied market with cow trends firm to slightly dearer despite big numbers of light cows still going to the paddock. Young cattle resulted in firm to cheaper trends however a large draft of weaners went south to the Riverina and secondary weaners to southern QLD. Weaner steers to background 320c to 490c/kg similar heifers 300c to 378c/kg. Light yearling steers to background 340c to 440c/kg the feeder drafts 368c to 482c/kg. Medium feeder steers 376c to 490c/kg and heavy feeders 398c to 458c/kg. Heavy processor yearling steers 358c to 410c/kg. Light heifers to background 260c to 380c/kg and medium feeders 300c to 440c/kg. Heifers to 480kgs to feed 340c to 420c/kg. Heifers to process 358c to 410c/kg. Grown steers to process 420c to 440c/kg similar heifers 320c to 398c/kg. Light cows to the paddock 148c to 306c/kg, three score cows 270c to 350c/kg. Prime heavy cows 305c to 365c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 436c/kg.

SHEEP / LAMBS: Inverell penned 2698 lambs and 2313 grown sheep a decrease of 3740 head from last sale .Lamb trends varied with heavy lambs over 30kgs cwt selling to $390/head mid range lambs selling to cheaper trends in the main. Conversely grown sheep sold to much dearer trends for most categories topping at $319/head for a pen of heavy Dorper ewes. Heavy crossbred wethers made to $332/head. There was a limited store lamb order for lambs to go to the southern Riverina area of NSW. Crossbred lambs to the paddock $224 to $236/head and store Dorper lambs $104 to $155/head. Very light Merino lambs to the paddock $70 to $127/head. Trade crossbred lambs dearer $240 to $267/head while heavy trades were cheaper $250 to $296/head. Lambs to 26kgs cwt much dearer $290 to $312/head. Dorper lambs over 30kgs cwt significantly dearer making to $345/head and heavy four score lambs to $390/head. Heavy hoggets $234 to $338/head. Grown sheep much dearer throughout light ewes $150 to $300/head. Medium ewes $240 to $251/head heavy ewes $285 to $319/head. Heavy wethers $215 to $332/head. Meat rams $100 to $160/head.

INVERELL LIVESTOCK REPORT
Tuesday 24th March.

CATTLE: Inverell penned similar numbers to last week with 4550 mixed quality cattle with large numbers of cows still coming forward. There was extended interest for store cows and strong competition for processor cows going to southern works. That being said, the cow market was much cheaper with closer plants working to subdued competition. Light weaner steers to background 370c to 498c/kg. Similar heifers 300c to 350c/kg. Medium background steers to 440c/kg the feeder drafts were dearer 398c to 538c/kg. Heavy feeders gained 18c/kg 410c to 518c/kg. Light heifers to background 250c to 376c/kg. Medium backgrounder heifers 320c to 384c/kg. Medium and heavy feeder heifers sold to a dearer result making to 410c/kg and 424c/kg respectively. Grown heifers to process 352c to 376c/kg. Cows were cheaper throughout. Heavy three and four score cows 312c to 372c/kg and medium cows to process 282c to 354c/kg. Cows back to the paddock 122c to 328c/kg many going north of the border. Heavy bulls were up to 20c/kg cheaper 348c to 406c/kg.



SHEEP / LAMBS: Agents penned 3317 lambs and 4668 grown sheep an increase of 2502 head overall. Lambs presented well with most categories enjoying a solid rise. Lambs in excess of 30kgs cwt plus sold over $400/head. Sheep varied but mostly to dearer results. All the regular buyers attended and operated. Light Merino lambs were dearer to process selling to $96/head. Light trade Dorpers much dearer making to $252/head. Trade crossbreds $220 to $280/head and heavy trades up $17/head. Similar Dorpers lifted $46/head $264 to $290/head. Crossbred lambs over 30kg cwt $400 to $420/head. Hoggets $160 to $300/head. Light ewes $55 to $113/head. Medium ewes $158 to $232/head and ewes over 30kgs cwt $270 to $305/head. Wethers $178 to $230/head and meat rams $80 to $120/head. Xb ewes 2” skin 23kg $232- Merino wether 1” 26kg $240- Heavy XB wethers 1” skin $300-Bare shorn merino ewes 27kg $240-Merino x lambs 56kg $314- Bare shorn XB lambs 65kg $420-Heavy Dorper hoggets $280.

INVERELL LIVESTOCK REPORT
Tuesday 10th March.

CATTLE: A new record penning of 4,220 cattle at the Inverell prime sale. The yarding being dominated by heavy cows and heavy feeder steers and heifers. The buying panel included several southern processors along with the regular operators. Good heavy cows sold to dearer trends with heavy bulls firm and feeder yearling steers and heifers also selling to dearer trends. Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to background sold from 350c to 472c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to feed sold from 430c to 525c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold from 487c to 530c with heavy yearling steers to feed at 440c to 534c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to re-stockers sold from 340c to 436c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold from 406c to 456c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed sold from 385c to 447c with those to processors at 420c to 440c/kg Grown steers to processors sold to 465c/kg. Medium weight score 2 cows to processors sold from 290c to 356c with those to re-stockers at 200c to 338c/kg. Heavy score 2 cows to processors sold from 310c to 366c/kg good heavy score 3 and 4 cows sold from 360c to 410c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors sold from 360c to 422c/kg.

SHEEP / LAMBS: Inverell agents penned 3,815 lambs and 2,051 grown sheep. All the regular buyers attended and operated on a very strong market across all lambs and mutton with most lines selling to dearer trends. Light weight lambs to re-stockers sold from $70 to $160/head. Dorper lambs in the 18-20kg range to the butcher trade sold from $162 to $220/head. Lambs over 20kg to processors sold from $180 to $262/head. Crossbred lambs in the 24-30kg range to processors sold from $196 to $387/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $303 to $404/head. Hoggets sold from $170 to $300/head. Crossbred and dorper ewes to processors sold from $158 to $354/head. Merino ewes to processors sold from $160 to $259/head. Merino wethers to processors sold from $217 to $268 with crossbred wethers at $175 to $358/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold from $110 to $188/head. CATTLE: Dry weather and solid markets continued Inverell numbers to increase by 1122 head to offer 3733 mixed quality cattle including large drafts of light cows showing the effects of dry conditions. The regular buyers attended with one exporter not operating. Trends were dearer for selected drafts of yearling cattle to feed and background. Weaner steers under 200kgs cheaper 360c to 532c/kg to background. Light yearling steers to feed cheaper 372c to 480c/kg background steers to similar trends 394c to 496c/kg. Background steers to 280kgs 20c/kg dearer selling to 522c/kg. Medium feeders firm 380c to 500c/kg and backgrounders 430c to 490c/kg. Heavy feeders slipped considerably 380c to 478c/kg. Light heifers to feed dearer 356c to 408c/kg medium heifers to feed marginally dearer 370c to 440c/kg. Heavy feeders dearer 410c to 428c/kg. Grown heifers to feed slipped 25c/kg 336c to 406c/kg. Heavy cows slightly dearer 304c to 386c/kg. Light cows to the paddock dearer 340c to 386c/kg and feeder cows 330c to 350c/kg. Heavy bulls dearer 292c to 358c/kg.

SHEEP / LAMBS: Dry weather resulted in an increase of grown sheep numbers for Inverell at 2639 head while lamb numbers were static at 2844 head a total of 5483 offered for sale. The regular buyers attended to a cheaper lamb market except for lambs over 30kgs cwt which were dearer. Grown sheep mostly dearer with a southern operator competing. Re-stockers also operating through the lamb sale. Re-stocker Dorpers $60 to $182/head crossbreeds $155 to $227/head and Merinos to $135/head. Trade Dorpers $180 to $185/head heavy Dorpers $222 to $294/head. Crossbreds to 30kgs cwt $280 to $320/head. Lambs in excess of 30kgs cwt $300 to $324/head. Hoggets $132 to $240/head. Very light Merino ewes to process $162 to $167/head. Medium ewes dearer $138 to $191/head and heavy ewes $245 to $318/head. CATTLE: Inverell numbers increased by 659 head to offer 2511 good quality cattle with larger numbers of yearling cattle. Trends varied with feeders improving to much dearer rises particularly the steer portion however cows sold to cheaper trends. Light weaner steers to background much dearer 420c to 556c/kg the yearling portion significantly dearer 450c to 548c/kg. Light feeders to 23c/kg better 455c to 490c/kg. Light processors364c to 390c/kg. Medium background steers cheaper 374c to 556c/kg similar feeders 9c/kg dearer 340c to 512c/kg. Feeders over 480kgs much dearer 450c to 508c/kg. Light heifers to background cheaper 338c to 360c/kg medium backgrounders also cheaper 384c to 388c/kg. Feeder drafts gained 3c/kg 338c to 423c/kg and processors to 414c/kg. Feeders over 480kgs slipped 12c/kg 404c to 422c/kg. Heavy grown heifers to process 355c to 414c/kg. No grown steers to quote. Cows were cheaper heavy cows 330c to 381c/kg. Two score cows 270c to 340c/kg and cows to the paddock 198c to 275c/kg. Yearling bulls to feed 376c to 416c/kg and heavy bulls to process 370c to 416c/kg.
