Thank you to everyone who attended today's author talk at Harbourise Salamander.

I had great conversations with a few of the residents who had spent time in Nepal.

It always brings me such joy to share the remarkable life story of Som Tamang and the work of Friends of Himalayan Children Inc. and Take On Nepal with new audiences.

Hopefully there will be a few more donations to the Rotary Club of Cairns Sunrise RAWCS project to extend Batase School.

Reconnecting with my grandad.

It's four decades since I lost the man who continues to inspire me to write, do good, and see the good in others.

Look who's talking!I have arrived in beautiful Port Stephens and I am looking forward to this event next Tuesday.

Former ABC journalist Kirsty Nancarrow - Media Trainer/Keynote Speaker/MC/Author has spent her life telling other people’s stories.

But some stories stay with you.

In this episode, Kirsty opens up about her career in journalism, covering major national stories, the emotional toll of reporting on trauma, and how meeting Som Tamang after the 2015 Nepal earthquake led her to write Himalayan Dreams.

We talk about journalism, PTSD, purpose, storytelling, AI, women in media, regional communities, and why real human stories still matter.

Weekend vibes.

The rain has stopped, the temperature's dropped and we finally rolled out the double swag tent under a full moon.

A perfect weekend on the Tablelands.
