Do you really need to optimise your website for its AI overview?

Understanding how AI programs gather information will answer that!

Some of today’s consumers are no longer just googling it. Today, more and more people are using AI tools such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity to find information. We have certainly noticed a few new businesses popping up, offering to optimise businesses for AI search queries. But the reality is, a properly maintained digital marketing footprint is all you really need.

AI overviews synthesise data from across the live internet. Instead of just pulling a basic map listing, the AI analyses a blend of direct business content and third-party mentions to create a narrative summary.

The AI builds its overview from these key sources:

Official Web Assets: Your official website, especially FAQ sections, blogs, and structured metadata.

Review & Rating Platforms: Third-party reviews on sites like Yelp, Tripadvisor, and Facebook.

Directory Listings: Consistent business information across major trusted directories.

User-Generated Content (UGC): Photos, social media mentions, and videos (like TikTok or YouTube) posted by customers.

If your digital marketing is managed by a professional agency, such as us, you don’t have to do anything more to get a positive AI overview of your business. As we manage all of these components for our clients, we are proactive about keeping everyone up to date with the latest AI expectations.

The easiest way to see how AI is seeing your business is as simple as googling yourself and see what the Google AI Overview has to say about your business. Because AI just pulls information together from the 4 main sources as listed above, you should get a favourable overview.

Here are a few things a business owner can review to improve an AI overview:

Review Website Content: Ensure your website's content clearly explains your services and answers common questions in your industry.

Collect Authentic Reviews: Encourage customer reviews across multiple trusted platforms, as AI uses this unbiased feedback to summarise your reputation.

Maintain Consistent Listings: Keep your business name, address, and phone number consistent across all search engines, maps, and social networks to help the AI verify your entity.

Encourage User Content: Ask happy customers to post photos and videos of your business on platforms like Google and YouTube, which are frequently cited in summaries.

As always, we’re here to help. So, if you need some help with this or have any questions, give us a call or send us an email and we’ll provide assistance. Just be careful about anyone wanting to charge excessive amounts to do this for you. As you can see from the above, getting your AI overview right all comes down to mostly administrative tasks.

New website launched May, 2026
- McPaul Electrical, Cairns
www.mcpaulelectrical.com.au

McPaul Electrical are a great, long term Allcorp client that we've been looking after for almost 10 years with their website, SEO and Google Ads. With the old website approaching retirement, we performed a complete website redesign while maintaining the original style and themes of the past project.

A website does have a limited life expectancy. This is because technology keeps advancing and evolving until it moves away from what the website was designed to do and where it will display. Think about what type of phone display we were all using 10 years ago and even the move to 4K displays that are all so prevalent today.

We ensure our clients stay relevant with their website projects and, being the largest producer of website products in the North Queensland region, we have a finger firmly on the pulse of the industry.

New website development project completed May 2026
- Dr. David Shepherd - Orthopaedic Surgeon
www.orthoshep.com.au

With the brand new website design for Dr. David Shepherd - Orthopaedic Surgeon completed last month, our developer team have been working on the next stage of the project with a custom coded and developed CRM and booking engine.

Our client gave us a detailed plan of how this CRM and booking engine should function and our website developer programmed everything from the ground up.

With Allcorp website development services, we're one of only a handful of agencies in the entire North Queensland region with the capabilities to offer custom coded website development integrations to client specifications.

New website launched May, 2026
- Cairns Specialized Cabinets
www.cairnskitchens.com.au

We've been looking after the marketing needs of our long term client at Cairns Specialized Cabinets for well over 10 years. This new website design represents their 4th website design in this time.

We always recommend that a business look at upgrading and redesigning their website every 3 or 4 years. This is due to the changing and evolving nature of development code and browser technology. Technology is always moving forwards and new things are being adopted to improve the look, functionality and performance of a website as these new technologies are added.

Rather than try and update an old website code structure into a new code structure, it is cleaner to start again from the beginning. With this project our copywriter and photography team we're also busy getting new design and content assets to improve the website and make it more current.

New website launched May, 2026
- Pool Pro Redlynch
www.poolproredlynch.com.au

This is the fifth website version we've designed for our valued client at Pool Pro Redlynch since we started working with them more than 10 years ago. Most businesses find that their website needs a redesign every 2 or 3 years. Whether due to changing products and services, new staff and even new offices and shops. A company website should reflect the way the business is today.

Rather than just add new photos or content into an old website, we work with clients through a complete redesign service where we start again from the ground-up.

With Pool Pro Redlynch, we've completely overhauled their old website with this custom-coded project that still retains important SEO features to ensure we maintain their search engine rankings. Our photography and copywriting team were also busy with producing new assets for our website developer to use in the new build.

We hope everyone had a chance to get a break away from work last month

Our team took some time away from their desks to recharge for the busy months ahead

Most business owners will know, the Easter holiday period is a great time to get away from work and take a well-earned break. With most businesses either closed for this period, or working on a skeleton crew, there's no better time to take off and recharge the creative batteries for 2026, round two.

From achieving Level 3 Performance Driver Training with Porsche Australia, to trekking through unexplored parts of Japan or lazing on a Fiji beach with some cocktails, everyone has a different idea of what 'time off' looks like. And our team all came back with grins on their faces and an enthusiasm for what's to come this year.

Now it's time to get back to work and we have some great projects lined up in the coming months including new videography and photography, website designs galore and class-leading marketing campaigns to launch across the all-conquering Google Ads and YouTube Ads mediums.

Waking up to positive news this morning, Channel 9 has announced the first wave of job redundancies across their news and current affairs sectors, with many more to be rolled out in the coming weeks. Not that we're happy that people are losing their jobs, moreso that we're happy that the old advertising and marketing mediums are disappearing.

A business shouldn't be misled into a lengthy and long marketing campaign across these free-to-air television networks and now, it's becoming less and less likely that these institutions will remain. Businesses can now start exploring the new and more current marketing mediums such as YouTube advertising, which, as we've been advising for years, is really where all the viewers of these dying monopolies such as Channel 9, 10 and the others have already gone. With the television and radio networks all struggling to keep their doors open, we see it as positive news that businesses will no longer be wasting their advertising budgets on marketing to an empty room.

Anyway, we're back, refreshed and ready to go with a long list of projects to finalise, many of them new and exciting marketing campaigns which we'll be broadcasting across YouTube in the coming weeks.

We hope everyone else had a chance to get a break and share our optimism for the months ahead and we look forward to showcasing our work and sharing our marketing strategy advice. (Yes, we're very much nerds and love doing what we do.)

New website launched April, 2026
- Weipa Smash Repairs
www.weipasmashrepairs.com.au

This is a new custom-coded website design project that was commissioned by our client who particularly wanted a website that ranked well in Google Search.

After doing their research, the client noticed that the majority of website projects in their region were not only designed by us, but also had a superior Google Search ranking.

Even if we don't perform our proven and reliable Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) services, a custom-coded website by Allcorp always tends to outrank the competitors due to their more concise code structure, better security and much faster load times. Looking better than the rest is also a value added bonus.

New website launched April, 2026
- Dr. David Shepherd - Orthopaedic Surgeon
www.orthoshep.com.au

This new website design for Dr. David Shepherd represents the third website project we've worked on in the last decade and features the input of our creative asset team with Allcorp produced photography and copywriting.

This website is also on our SEO management roster and we've been finessing the website code structure on a monthly basis to keep it ranking at the top of Google Search. It is important that we carefully transition to the new website version but only after the vital SEO components have been moved back into place.

When the Google Crawlers next visit this website, they'll see all of the usual content and code-level SEO we've always had in their website structure, only now with extra layers added on top.

This new website also forms the basis for a website development project where our code-fluent programmers are working on a completely custom made CRM to manage their appointments.

The technology may have moved on, but the method is the same.

Is your business still pouring money into an empty room?

The way the world consumes content has changed and while some old mediums are still hanging in there with a slight heartbeat, they’re fast approaching retirement. But where did all of the audiences that once inhabited these realms go?

Radio advertising is one example. When life was programmed and we couldn’t choose when and how we listen to what we wanted, we’d tune into our favourite radio segment or use radio to listen to music in the car when traveling.

In 2026, radio audiences have declined hugely; we have all realised that we don’t have to listen to Kyle Sandilands anymore. We can choose what we want to listen to, and audiences have switched off the old-tech radio programming and are now using modern technology to stream music and podcasts.

Some studies even show a reduction in local radio audiences as much as 95% over the last 5 years.

In the year 2000, a business may have found some benefit from positioning their 30 second advertisement in between music and regular radio segments, but definitely not today. A business who is pouring money into advertising on local radio networks is simply wasting their resources because they are spending their budget to broadcast their message into an empty room.

The new ‘radio’ today is streaming, and the old radio audience has moved to this more efficient and practical space to absorb the content they want to listen to. Unless you’re 95 years old and stuck in your ways, these days the vast majority of people are using Spotify and YouTube to listen to music, vlogs and podcasts whether at home, at work or while driving and commuting.

Same, too, goes with the old-style television commercials. Once again, back when life was programmed and you had to be in front of the TV to watch Friends at 7.30pm on a Wednesday, it made sense for advertisers to fill the ad slots between segments with their selling messages. But once again, this has become another empty room, and a business who pours money into it with their marketing budget really needs to book a health check.

This TV audience has also moved to the same space as the old-tech radio listeners, we’re all on YouTube, listening, watching, absorbing whatever content we want.
The good news is the method of advertising to your audience is exactly the same. By broadcasting your advertising in a similar way as the old-tech days, but to the medium that has captured almost all of the marketable audience, is what a clever business owner is now doing.

At Allcorp we are Google and YouTube Partners and have been for a very long time. We also have access to the most advanced metrics and data through the Google Partners portal to be able to make even more targeted decisions as to where to place our client advertising messages with more accuracy for finding the right audience.

Talk to us today about moving your old-tech TV and Radio advertising to the YouTube network and find your customers again.

New Google Ads campaign published March 2026
- The Menopause Mentor, Cairns
www.menopausementorcairns.com.au

Any new business venture has a long road to travel before they get everything established. Luckily for new businesses like The Menopause Mentor, they can rest assured that all of the essentials, when it comes to their marketing, can all be looked after by our team. After being in this business for over 26 years, we certainly know the method to getting a business looking good, with our logo design, branding, copywriting, photography and videography all coming together with the final website design.

But that's not the end of the story. There's a world of opportunity when it comes to all of the modern marketing services we provide. With The Menopause Mentor, we had established the basis for a great business that really has something to offer. But it's little point keeping this news a secret, and a website on its own isn't going to provide much marketing merit until people start seeing it.

That's where our Google Ads marketing services come in. Google Ads that are managed by Allcorp are the best way to see immediate results and with the ads now running, we're expecting the lead generation form on the website to start firing in leads and enquiries within 24 hours.
