Did you know that there are a group of Canberrans who get up early and run 5kms every Saturday? On purpose?

I didn’t up until recently and today I completed my first park run . I’m not a runner so I walked/jogged the course and completed it in just under an hour.

I enjoyed the support and made some new friends along the way.

Who knows, I might become a runner yet!

Trust comes from building relationships and relationships take time.

When posting our content we want it to resonate with others. Showing up as ourselves lets people know who we are, so they can then like and trust us.

Trust is a foundation for any relationship. In business, it is not a “nice to have” it is essential.

So how do we build trust with an audience who is just getting to know you? Show them who you are.

Creating content that builds trust is impossible if your audience doesn’t know who you are. They need to know you and like you, before they can trust you.

Sharing content that shows our values, beliefs and who we are lets people get to know us. If our values align, we can start to build trust, which puts us front of mind when our customers are looking to purchase our product or service.

When I was choosing the name The Social Nest, I wanted a business where people felt nurtured and supported. This sign was given to me soon after I opened and it still makes me smile.

I believe that building a community of advocates for your business is more important than chasing thousands of followers.

Budgets might be tighter, people are shopping more cautiously, but you know who they do buy from? They buy from people they know, like and trust. The name of a plumber who was recommended to you at a party is more likely to be remembered because your friend trusts them.

As a social media strategist I can help you be found across your socials. I align your overall business objectives and design content for you to help move people through the buyer journey. Showing up as your authentic self will help people to get to know, like and trust you.

One of the favourite parts of my job is getting to meet other small business owners.

I met Angela last year at a networking event and it was lovely to catch up with her over breakfast and learn more about her life coaching business.

We were so busy talking that we didn’t take a photo of our breakfast but from the photos we took you know the food was delicious 😋
