Sell a good night’s sleep - not the mattress!

Not sure how to articulate the benefits? Try the ‘so what’ test:
Start with a feature and keep asking ‘so what?’ until you uncover the benefits that will appeal
to your target audience.

“Our mattresses are made from the springiest springs and the foamiest foam!”

So what?

“Therefore they are softer than other mattresses!”

So what?

“You will get better sleep on our mattresses.”

Do you know who your target audience is? Are you confident that they’re picking up what you’re putting down?

A great place to start is ask yourself, do I have:
✔️ an established tone of voice?
✔️ website copy that aligns with my brand?
✔️ an identified, engaged audience?

COMMS TIP: Do you ever forget someone’s name moments after they introduce themselves? You are far more likely to remember somebody’s name after you meet them by repeating it back to them. Ideally twice in the intro conversation, bonus points if you manage 3. What this can look like:

Frank: Hi my name is Frank!
Alyson: Hi Frank, my name is Alyson.
Alyson: Frank, this is my friend John.
Alyson: It was great to meet you Frank!

Tricks like this in your comms arsenal can absolutely enhance your customer and employee experience. People remember being remembered. And you don’t need to be an extrovert, a ‘people person’, or have the world’s best memory to have meaningful face-to-face interactions - there are strategies you can learn for that!

Hello world, this is me 👋🏼 (yes, we’ve gone from Fetty to Saddle Club)

My name is Alyson and I own and run Le Comms. I’m a born and bred Canberra gal and I have a very noisy household made up of a boisterous husband, 2 rambunctious little boys and a vocal sausage dog 😝

I have a 9-5 corporate comms job and this is my passion piece! (If you work with me I promise to make you feel like you are my 9-5 😉) I have always freelanced on the side, so I thought I’d put a brand on it and make it the real deal!

In my pre-kid life I was a dancer and a Zumba Instructor, though I haven’t taught since having my second child - never say never! 💃🏽 I love cooking, wine and art and I read absolutely everything about technology and all things creative.

I’m not just passionate about helping businesses shine through their brands and their messaging, but in arming them with the tools and the knowledge to do it themselves with gusto 👊🏼
