The most expensive feature could be the one nobody needs.

A new dashboard. A custom integration. An advanced reporting tool.

Each adds more than development cost. It also needs testing, maintenance and ongoing support.

Before adding it to the project scope, ask: What problem does it solve, and for whom?

At OSKY, business analysis and discovery help organisations understand user needs, test assumptions and prioritise where their digital budget will make the biggest difference.

That means clearer decisions about what to build, what to simplify and what to leave out.

One of Canberra’s favourite spring evenings is returning on 24 October.

The Canberra Nara Candle Festival is coming back to Canberra Nara Peace Park in Lennox Gardens, celebrating the longstanding sister-city friendship between Canberra and Nara, Japan.

As the sun sets over Lake Burley Griffin, thousands of candles illuminate the park alongside traditional performances, Japanese food and cultural activities.

It’s a beautiful celebration of friendship, culture and community, and one of those uniquely Canberra events that reminds us why we love calling this city home.

If you’re heading along this year, we hope you enjoy a peaceful evening by the lake.

That’s a wrap on the ACFID National Conference 2026.

A big thank you to the ACFID team for bringing together such an engaged community from across the international development sector.

And to everyone who stopped by the OSKY stand, thank you. It was great meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and hearing about the digital challenges and priorities organisations are working through.

Many of those conversations are exactly why we created our 2026 Digital Impact Sponsorship.

There is still time for ACFID member organisations to apply for a share of $10,000 in in-kind digital support:
1 Ă— $5,000 Impact Sponsorship
2 Ă— $2,500 Foundation Sponsorships

You don’t need to have the solution figured out. Tell us the challenge your organisation is facing and the outcome you want to achieve, and we’ll look at where our digital expertise could make the greatest practical difference.

Applications close 28 October 2026.

Canberra looks a little different after dark. ✨

NightFest returns to Commonwealth Park from 1 to 4 October, bringing Floriade to life at night with illuminated blooms, fire performances, live music, entertainment and food.

It’s a good reminder of how much atmosphere can change an experience.
The space itself is familiar, but lighting, movement, colour and sound can completely change how it feels.

We think about that in digital design too. Small details such as motion, transitions, colour and interaction can shape how people experience a website or digital platform, without needing to reinvent everything underneath.

If you’re heading to NightFest over the next few evenings, enjoy seeing another side of Canberra and Commonwealth Park after dark.

The website feature nobody notices until it breaks? The notification email.

A customer submits an enquiry form. The website says, “Thanks, we’ll be in touch.”

Everything looks fine.

But what if the notification never reaches your team?

That can mean a lost lead, a missed booking or registration, delayed follow-up, or a customer who assumes nobody is listening.

This is why QA needs to test more than what users can see.

At OSKY, we look at the whole journey.

Did the form submit successfully?
Was the data captured correctly?
Did the right notification reach the right person?
And if something failed, would anyone know?

Our QA process combines automated and manual testing. Automation helps us repeatedly check important workflows and catch regressions, while manual testing adds the human judgement needed to identify usability issues, unexpected behaviour and edge cases.

Good QA is often invisible when everything works. That is exactly the point.

Finding these issues before your users do helps protect revenue, customer trust and day-to-day operations.

Because some of the most important parts of a website are the ones nobody sees.

Not sure whether your website’s key forms and workflows are working as they should?

Talk to OSKY about testing the full user journey, from form submission to data capture, notifications and follow-up.
