The WA Day long weekend is almost here! It's a fantastic time for our communities to come together and celebrate what makes our state so special.

To make sure the weekend is a great success for everyone, it's a good moment to double-check that your valued staff are rostered correctly with holiday pay rates, and that your members are clear on any changes to opening hours or kitchen times.

A little bit of planning goes a long way to creating a wonderful holiday atmosphere for your members, guests, and team! Please also note that the Clubs WA office will be closed on Monday, 1 June for the public holiday.

We've put together a quick checklist of reminders on the Clubs WA website.

This National Reconciliation Week, let's go 'All In' and think about what makes our clubs truly welcoming for everyone. It's a powerful time to learn about our shared histories and strengthen the bonds within our community.

Creating a space where all members, guests, and staff, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, feel safe and respected is at the heart of what community clubs are all about. It's about turning awareness into real, positive action.

We've put together some practical steps your club can consider this week and beyond. Read the full story on the Clubs WA website!

They're the heart and soul of every club in WA. Are we doing enough to thank our amazing volunteers?

This week's WA Volunteer Service Awards were a powerful reminder of the incredible people who give their time to make our communities thrive. It's so important to see long-serving members recognised, but the awards also now celebrate those with 5 years of service, showing that every single milestone matters!

A culture of appreciation is key to keeping our clubs strong and vibrant. A simple, regular way of saying 'thank you' makes a huge difference to morale and ensures our most valuable people feel seen and supported. How does your club celebrate its volunteers?

We've explored how you can build a simple but effective recognition program. Read the full story on the Clubs WA website!

A simple paperwork oversight could put your club's dedicated volunteers at risk of losing their own homes.

It sounds extreme, but the WA Government has issued a final warning to thousands of clubs that haven't lodged their Annual Information Statement. Forgetting this crucial step doesn't just put your club's future in jeopardy; it means the volunteers on your committee could become personally responsible for the club's debts.

This isn't just about compliance – it's about protecting the incredible people who give their time to keep your community hub alive. Let's make sure our clubs and our volunteers are safe. Have you checked your club's status?

We've broken down exactly what's at stake and what you need to do. Read the full story on the Clubs WA website!
