DID YOU KNOW YOU COULD DO THIS WITH THE MASK TOOL? 👀✨

This is one of those editing tricks that looks complicated but is actually pretty simple once you know how!

And yes, it’s all done straight from your phone in Edits! 📱

Here’s the breakdown 👇

✨ Film yourself bringing your hands together and pulling them apart.

✨ Add your text and position it between your hands.

✨ Duplicate your video and turn the second clip into an overlay.

✨ Select Mask, choose Shutter and make sure you click Invert!

✨ Add a keyframe just before your hands separate, then move through your clip, opening the mask as your hands move apart.

The secret is getting your keyframes and mask movement to match your hands!

And just like that, you’ve created a pretty cool text reveal without needing another editing app.

Save this before you forget it! 📌 These are TWO settings to turn on every time you start a reel in Edits.

And yes, having to switch them on for every project is annoying… but it is what it is for the moment 😂

Head to your project settings at the top, then:

👉 Turn on Show Guides and swipe on the text guides so you can keep your text where people can actually see it.

👉 Switch on the audio toggle shown in this video. This saves you having to move your audio every time you make a last-minute change to your edit. 🙌

Two little switches that can save you a whole lot of fiddling!
