6 examples to monetise a hospitality or tourism mailing list in July. Beat the winter blues 🥶
Hospitality:
1. Father’s Day. Beat the August social frenzy. Create your event, menu, or offer, and email out with VIP/early bird bookings, access or pricing.
2. Takeaway or take-home offer. Create a ready-to-cook or ingredients basket of a favourite recipe for customers to 'enjoy in front of the fire'. It could also be gifted to parents/friends, or sold in-house as a ‘secret menu item’ only your subscribers know about 🤭
3: A supplier hamper. Brainstorm your invoice pile and put together a hamper or platter of the finest local products. If you're a producer, contact your stockists with this suggestion and help get it off the ground, or use the idea as inspiration to sell your own Best of Tassie hamper to clients, or online.
Tourism & Accommodation:
1. A Super Pass. Reach out to the local businesses in your area - the ones you recommend to guests. (Just like the Gold Coast) create a ‘Super Pass’ with a discount or offer at each, and actively encourage guests to move between the businesses. Email it to your list including your own offer (stay 3, pay 2, or early checkin/late checkout etc) and to your upcoming bookings with an upsell.
*Additionally, completed passes could be submitted for a grand prize your network comes up with.
2. The late checkout. Develop a brunch hamper or breakfast package designed to be enjoyed late morning. Pastries, DIY Bloody Marys, specialty coffee, breakfast in bed; whatever suits your property. Allow guests to sleep through the frosty mornings and truly relax til 1pm.
3. ‘Winter in Spring’ rates. Email past guests with an offer to book at special rates for their Sept-Nov stay before rates would typically rise. Cap at a 14-day booking window (allows for 2 emails) to create urgency.
Hospitality and tourism operators often have years of lapsed contacts sitting around, or a dormant list just waiting to be reactivated.
