Four seasons in a day? Just another day in North-West Tassie. 🌦️

When plans change on a dime, travellers rely entirely on their phones to figure out where to go next. Great reviews get you noticed, but an up-to-date website and Google profile are what actually bring them through your door.

Is your digital footprint ready for the seasonal shift?

The best businesses on this Coast are not always the easiest to find.

Landscapers, mechanics, cleaners, accountants - 5 star Google reviews, work that speaks for itself, and no website. Which means the next generation of home, car and business owners (the ones who aren't on this app) can't find them at all.

So we built 5 to 1. One clean landing page - your reviews, your photos, your number - flat rate, domain included, money back within three months if it's not earning its keep.

If you don't tell them they'll never know. From 5 stars to 1 page. → www.5to1.com.au

Huge for the North West 🥳 congrats to Devonport City Council for taking out the 2026 Tassie’s Top Tourism Town Award and Stanley and Tarkine Tasmania for claiming People’s Choice!

Incredible recognition for all the local operators, venues, and makers keeping our region world-class. Credit to Tourism Industry Council for championing the industry.

According to Google’s local search data, business profiles linked to a dedicated website drive 70% more in-store visits than those relying solely on social media or incomplete listings.

When tourists and locals search Google Maps, website clicks are the #1 single action they take. They want instant visual certainty like trading hours, menus, and clear details, without the friction of buried posts or login popups.

Glowing reviews get your business noticed, but a clean, dedicated website link is what actually converts those searchers into paying customers.

That little ‘Website’ button on your Google Business Profile is doing far more heavy lifting than you think. Google data backs it up:

🔥 7x more total clicks on complete business profiles
🔥 70% more in-store foot traffic
🔥 #1 action taken from your profile views

Here's why a clean 1-page website is the ultimate conversion anchor for your Google listing 👇

Tourism Tasmania spends millions annually bringing tourists here. The Off Season winter campaign is live right now in the mainland capitals.

Not one dollar catches them for your business.

If your digital basics aren’t locked down, you’re letting state marketing dollars drive tourists right past your front door.

6 examples to monetise a hospitality or tourism mailing list in July. Beat the winter blues 🥶

Hospitality:

1. Father’s Day. Beat the August social frenzy. Create your event, menu, or offer, and email out with VIP/early bird bookings, access or pricing.

2. Takeaway or take-home offer. Create a ready-to-cook or ingredients basket of a favourite recipe for customers to 'enjoy in front of the fire'. It could also be gifted to parents/friends, or sold in-house as a ‘secret menu item’ only your subscribers know about 🤭

3: A supplier hamper. Brainstorm your invoice pile and put together a hamper or platter of the finest local products. If you're a producer, contact your stockists with this suggestion and help get it off the ground, or use the idea as inspiration to sell your own Best of Tassie hamper to clients, or online.

Tourism & Accommodation:

1. A Super Pass. Reach out to the local businesses in your area - the ones you recommend to guests. (Just like the Gold Coast) create a ‘Super Pass’ with a discount or offer at each, and actively encourage guests to move between the businesses. Email it to your list including your own offer (stay 3, pay 2, or early checkin/late checkout etc) and to your upcoming bookings with an upsell.

*Additionally, completed passes could be submitted for a grand prize your network comes up with.

2. The late checkout. Develop a brunch hamper or breakfast package designed to be enjoyed late morning. Pastries, DIY Bloody Marys, specialty coffee, breakfast in bed; whatever suits your property. Allow guests to sleep through the frosty mornings and truly relax til 1pm.

3. ‘Winter in Spring’ rates. Email past guests with an offer to book at special rates for their Sept-Nov stay before rates would typically rise. Cap at a 14-day booking window (allows for 2 emails) to create urgency.

Hospitality and tourism operators often have years of lapsed contacts sitting around, or a dormant list just waiting to be reactivated.

Welcome to Marketing Mountain. 🏔️

Hawley Press will be your guide today. Boots on! We’re heading for the summit, where the view belongs to you and nobody else.

Fair warning: many tours never leave the carpark. They stay down there posting photos by the tour buses, fighting for the same views on social media.

Swipe through. We’ll skip the crowded boardwalk, check the lookout where the hungry tourists are actually looking, and push for the summit. Your own landing page. Your own email list. A view no algorithm can take from you.

Keep up, please. It’s a climb you’ll always remember, and we’ll be back by sunset.

🥾 How far up the mountain is your marketing? See more at our website or pinned post.
