You’ve never heard of a hedgehog owning an agency before? Well I’m spike-endowed and proud. Get used to it. I’m pretty fantastic at everything, from social to blogs to scripts. And my human helpers Ali and Josh are alright too. For humans, that is. Enough about them. I’m the real star here. So get in touch. Hedgehogs don’t bite… hard. [email protected]

If you've built yourself an AI "second brain," congratulations. You've finished stage one of five.

Most of the guides floating around stop there too, which is a shame, because that's where the leverage actually starts. New blog covers the four stages most businesses never get to, and what changes when you do.

Budget isn't usually the problem. The creative sitting behind it usually is.

This carousel covers seven things worth checking in any Meta account, from why creative is now your biggest lever, to how often you should actually be retiring old ads. Have a scroll and see how many you're guilty of.

Before you touch your Meta budget, watch this.

Three creative habits I see burning spend in almost every account: hooks that don't hook, UGC that's too polished to feel real, and ads that have been live so long the algorithm's bored of them too.

Fix the creative before you touch the dial on spend.

Quills out, strategy on, Hilda 🦔

If your Meta Ads aren't performing, the first thing I'd check isn't your budget. It's your creative.

Most accounts I look into have perfectly sensible targeting and a perfectly reasonable spend, and ads that have been running unchanged for months. That's the actual problem.

New blog covers what's working in Meta creative right now and what's costing you without you realising it. Have a read and let me know what you'd add.

The difference between AI content that sounds human and AI content that sounds like AI usually comes down to one thing: what you gave it before you hit generate.

This carousel covers the checklist: what to include in your brief, what to edit in your output, and how to use AI for the parts of marketing it's actually good at.

AI is an excellent first-draft tool. It is not a replacement for a voice.

This reel covers the practical moves that make AI output actually sound like your business, not like a helpful robot doing its best. Worth a watch if you're using AI for any of your content.

AI can write your first draft. It cannot write your voice.

At least not without help. The new Hedgehog blog breaks down exactly what to give an AI tool so the output sounds like you wrote it, not like a well-trained autocomplete. It's practical, it works, and it involves less prompt-engineering than you'd think.

Do you use AI for any of your marketing content? What's your experience been?

Month-on-month comparisons feel like data rigour. Often, they're just seasonal noise with a percentage attached.

This carousel covers why the comparison you choose shapes the story you see, and why year-on-year plus rolling averages give you a much cleaner picture of what's actually going on in your business.

Worth bookmarking for your next reporting period.

A down month isn't always a marketing problem. Sometimes it's just February.

This reel covers the difference between seasonal variation and actual decline, and why the comparison you use to measure results matters more than most people realise. Worth a watch before your next reporting conversation.

"Results are up on last month!" is not the win it sounds like if last month was January.

Seasonal patterns, school holidays, Easter timing, the Australian winter slowdown: all of these create month-on-month swings that have nothing to do with your marketing. The new Hedgehog blog explains which comparisons to trust, which to be sceptical of, and the one rolling metric that shows you what's actually changing in your business.

Do you track year-on-year or month-on-month? Curious what most people default to.
