Bungalow Teamie Mood Board

I’ve been avoiding this one for way too long...

Emma and Lindsey’s mood board posts have been sitting pretty on the grid for months, and I’ve been quietly hiding behind them. 🫣

So, hello. I’m Kelly, Founder of The Marketing Bungalow.

The main photo with the number nine balloon was taken when TMB turned nine. Our 10th birthday came and went very quietly last year while life and business asked a lot of me, but I’m still really proud of this little business and everything it has become.

As for me, I’m a lateral-thinking creative with a very practical strategy brain. I write things better than I say them out loud. I can be a bit hippy at heart, but I also love a plan, a clear direction, and work that actually makes sense.

I love sunsets, my garden, my two beautiful teenage boys, and my bestie/husband. I’m usually happiest when life feels simple, grounded and real.

Professionally, I’m finding myself again at 46, with a lot more confidence in what I know, what I value, and what I’m here to build.

These days, that means a smaller, calmer, clearer version of TMB. A business built around good work, good people, and creative marketing, comms and design with substance underneath it.

So this is me, finally showing up on the mood board.

And if you’re here for the journey, thank you. I’m really glad you are. 🤎

For B2B, service, and niche product businesses, social media works best when it balances expertise with personality.

It’s not about chasing every trend or posting for the sake of it. It’s about showing up with clarity, sharing ideas that matter to your audience, and building genuine connection over time.

Our team works closely with clients to understand their industry, voice, and goals. From there, we develop content that strengthens authority, tells meaningful brand stories, and creates opportunities for community engagement that goes beyond the world of vanity metrics.

Because our communications team works alongside our designers and copywriters, every post feels considered, visually aligned, clearly written, and strategically planned.

The result is social media that supports your brand reputation rather than draining your time.

If you’re ready to approach it with a bit more intention, we’re here. 😌

Being seen is easy. Being chosen is earned.

It’s tempting to chase the spotlight when everyone else seems to be shining. But the real magic isn’t in the noise. It’s in the quiet moments when your work speaks for itself and people feel it.

You build an enduring business not by turning up the volume, but by tuning in to what matters. Trust, consistency, and values that resonate beyond the surface.

Lasting trust isn’t won with a megaphone. It grows quietly each time you show up with purpose, stay true to your word, and let your reputation do the talking.

Keep showing up. Keep tuning in. Your people are listening. ✨

It might be a campaign idea, the right line of copy, a colour combination that you can feel, or a message that finally clicks. In marketing and design, the spark is often a small moment, but it's where good work begins.

Most creative people know the feeling of having the spark. Work feels lighter, ideas flow more easily, and curiosity drives you instead of pressure. But we're just as aware when the spark is missing... 🌫️

When work feels overdone, too many opinions crowd the room, or fatigue sets in, the process turns technical and loses energy.

You can't force the spark, but you can make space for it to emerge. We take a walk without our phones. We let conversations wander (no idea is too rough). We sketch before we critique. We stay loose before we lock in.

In creative work, protecting the spark isn't soft. It's the whole strategy.
What brings the spark back for you? ⚡️

Some of our best work happens where creative brand design, communications, and marketing overlap. When we bring those disciplines together from the start, brands feel consistent, no matter where people find them.

Our ongoing partnership with Colin Cuthbert at Positive Influence Group is a great example. Colin, a Professional EOS Implementer®, helps leadership teams get clear on how they operate and grow. We help that clarity shine through in every piece of campaign content, social post, and digital experience.

Design gives shape. Communications sharpen the message. Marketing ensures it lands with the right people. When all these parts move together, the result is simpler, more effective, and much more fun to build. 😁

Working with talented people who have something real to offer, and helping them bring it to life, will always be our favourite part of the job.

Most businesses set up their Google Business Profile once and leave it there.

But search is evolving. Google increasingly uses AI to interpret information about businesses, and your Google Business Profile is one of the places it draws signals from.

If the language there is vague, Google’s understanding of your business can be too.

This carousel walks through a few practical ways to tighten it up — clearer descriptions, more specific services, thoughtful Q&A and review responses.

Nothing complicated. Just making sure the right information is doing the work for you.

If you manage your own profile, save this and review it alongside your listing. It’s a quick exercise that can make a real difference to how your business is interpreted in search.

Autumn is gorgeous in Australia... especially the sunrises. 🌅

It’s also that point in the year where you realise the “fresh start” energy has worn off and everything is… live. Projects. Ideas. Admin. All of it.

If it feels like everything is active at once, here’s the shortened version of our Bungalow organise-the-chaos tool. We use it when the overwhelm hits.

The Focus Funnel

⚪️ First: write down everything pulling at you.
Not the polished list. The real one. Dump everything on your mind.

⚪️ Then, for each item, ask:

– Am I actually interested in this right now?
– Does it matter to someone else (now or soon)?
– Can I move it forward in 1–2 focused sessions?

If it doesn’t get at least two yeses, it’s not for today. It can wait.

⚪️ From what’s left, choose one thing.
Be specific about what “progress” means.
Then give it five focused minutes to break the barrier and start to flow.

We've found that most overwhelm isn’t about capacity. It’s about trying to hold everything at once.

If you try it, tell us how it goes for you. 😊

For the past couple of months, we’ve been quiet here. That's because, on December 29 2025, my Mum passed away.

Since then, life has been both tender and practical. Grief alongside paperwork, family alongside responsibility. The kind of season that narrows your focus. I didn’t feel it was right to be outwardly promoting our business while navigating the loss of my final living parent. So we kept our heads down and worked quietly, continuing to show up for the beautiful clients who trust us.

Mum was 72. A non-smoker diagnosed with lung cancer. She loved my children completely. She treated my husband like her own son. She was my best friend from the very beginning.

Her loss isn’t something to fix or fill. It’s something I’ll carry.

This is mine to walk through, along with my family and siblings, and I know many others are walking their own hard (and harder again) things too. I’m deeply grateful I had her for my whole childhood and a very good part of my adult life.

To our clients, thank you for your care and understanding in those early weeks. We continued the work. You simply allowed me the space to do both. Em and Linds, you carried me through the six months prior, while I showed up during Mum’s illness. My heart is so grateful for you both.

So we’ll pick up where we left off, sharing our work and thoughts in this little corner of the internet.

Kelly 🤍

We don’t work with many.
We work closely.

We’re honoured to partner with a boutique group of non-competing clients. This is one of the ways we’re able to make a genuine difference, by bringing our full expertise to each business, with care, discretion, and focus.

In addition to the incredible clients we already work alongside, we have space in 2026 for a small number of aligned brands in accommodation, property, wellness, mindful living, and mum + kids spaces.

If you’re ready to expand your impact across brand design, communications, or marketing, we’d love to talk.
