Red Cartel are leaders in the development of world-class VR games and applications and we are looking for a talented mid-level Technical 3D Artist to join the team. This person will be a highly skilled and motivated 3D artist ready to join our team to work on various VR arcade games and training simulations

Requirements
- Highly skilled in the development of optimized 3D content for Unity (for use in VR)
- Exceptional skills with Materials, Textures and Shaders in Unity
- Highly skilled 3D modeling low and high-poly assets and texturing/UV mapping
- Understands the technical constraints of VR game development
- Solid knowledge of low-poly modeling and mapping in 3DS Max or equivalent software
- 2 years experience as a real-time Unity artist
- Must have a portfolio of related work to show

Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling and Texturing of assets (props, characters, environments) to be used in various VR arcade games and training applications.
- Modification and optimization of existing assets
- Troubleshoot performance issues and apply best practice optimization techniques

The role will be initially as a freelance role that will lead to full-time employment for the right person.

We are looking for passionate 3D artists who know their way around 3DSMAX/Maya/Unity to contribute to the creation of high quality and visually beautiful projects with a preference towards a technical artist.

We're looking for people who know their way around real-time and baked lighting, able create and customize shaders, particle systems and VFX. You will have a keen eye for detail with the ability to work collaboratively, Our ideal candidate will understand the importance of interpersonal skills and can effectively communicate with all departments across the wider team.

As we do a lot of Virtual Reality projects it is vital you are able to think of creative ways to work within limitations for the platform/hardware without sacrificing the artistic vision.

As this is a freelance role you would be put onto a range of different projects. We love personal collaboration so would prefer someone who can come and work in our office with us (at least to begin with).

Our modern office in Crows Nest is surrounded by bars and eateries and less than a 10 minute walk to St Leonards train station.
