The Northern Territory is known for its bold, creative and sometimes wonderfully unconventional events, but behind every successful festival is something just as important: the businesses and organisations willing to back them.

At Sprout, we believe corporate business can, and should, support community events. We choose to back events we are genuinely passionate about, because when businesses invest in community, the impact reaches far beyond branding on a banner.

We are proud to support initiatives such as October Business Month (15 years), the Festival of Women, Browns Mart, and of course fabALICE Festival (4 years).

Each of these events brings people together, sparks ideas, celebrates creativity and strengthens the communities we live and work in. We love helping businesses find the right events and partnerships so their support makes a real difference. When done well, sponsorship isn’t just about visibility, it’s about values, impact and getting genuine bang for your buck.

If your business is ready to support the events that make the Territory extraordinary, we’d love to talk ✔️

At some point in every project, the focus shifts from the build itself to the people it affects.

In recent years, DCOH has placed greater focus on this by supporting the communities it works in and the people who have served them - it is an important part of what it means to build better.

One of the most meaningful partnerships the company has developed in this space is with Soldier On.

Soldier On is a not-for-profit organisation that provides holistic support services, including health and wellbeing programs, employment and education pathways, and social connection activities to current and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel and their families.

DCOH’s support of Soldier On is an initial three-year commitment, with funding of $75,000 alongside involvement from its people.

Darwin audiences were treated to an extraordinary cultural experience introducing Territorians to the elegance, colour and ceremony of Vietnamese Nhã nhạc.

The Darwin performance formed the opening event of the city’s Lunar New Year Series 2026 celebrations, highlighting the strong cultural ties between Australia and Vietnam and the vibrant Vietnamese community living in the Northern Territory.

Held at the AANT Centre to a full house, the evening showcased Nhã nhạc, a rare and refined musical tradition that once echoed through the imperial palaces of Vietnam.

Recognised by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the centuries-old art form remains one of Vietnam’s most treasured cultural traditions.

Building in the Territory

Building in the Northern Territory demands more than construction expertise - it requires a deep understanding of heat, distance, compressed programs and the logistic challenges that define major project delivery.

InfraBuild has been part of the Territory’s infrastructure story for more than 35 years, bringing national manufacturing capability and local supply experience together to support some of the NT’s most complex projects - from transport and defence-related construction to port, marine and energy-linked assets.

With over 1,600 tonnes of daily processing capacity nationally and Australian-made reinforcing steel produced using recycled scrap metal, IBR offers Territory contractors reliability, compliance assurance and a reduced carbon footprint on every project.

One of the most consequential debates in ASEAN is happening with almost no publicity - and it directly impacts NT business.

The consequences have far-reaching impacts on the free flow of trade within the region and with China, impacting the way NT business develops and exports products and digital products.

The debate is about the growth of the digital economy. Or more precisely, it’s a fight to decide which standards will be adopted in AI (Artificial Intelligence), advanced computing, digital payment platforms, safety features on imported EVs and other aspects of the digital universe.

Just over an hour’s flight from Darwin lies a destination many travellers have barely discovered, yet those who do rarely forget it. Welcome to Dili - the relaxed coastal capital of Timor-Leste and what I like to call the Land of Smiles.

For Territorians who feel they’ve “done Bali” a few too many times, Dili offers something refreshingly different. It’s raw, welcoming, and full of character, an emerging tourism destination where adventure, culture and simple pleasures blend together effortlessly.

There are no mega resorts dominating the coastline, no crowded beach clubs competing for attention. Instead, Dili rewards travellers who arrive with curiosity, patience and a spirit of exploration.

Dili’s, Atauro Island is often described as one of the most biodiverse marine environments on the planet.

As Dili continues to grow as a destination, its hospitality scene is evolving too. Leading the way is the impressive Palm Springs Hotel Dili, the city’s first true five-star hotel and a standout addition to the capital’s skyline.

Benefits of Northern Territory Beef

Reliable access to affordable protein underpins social stability, economic participation and political confidence. When supply chains are strong, communities are resilient. When they fracture, pressure builds – in households, in markets and across borders.

Darwin is Australia’s most strategically positioned port and the gateway through which trade flows into Asia and returns in partnership.

For decades, the Northern Territory’s cattle industry has supplied Southeast Asia with high-quality, dependable protein. This has never been an opportunistic trade. It has been built on consistency, performance and, most importantly, trust sustained across generations.

So here is the question: if protein underpins stability, why would we ever treat beef as peripheral?

For many Territorians, a job at McDonald's is more than a first pay cheque - it can be the start of a rewarding career.

The Archways to Opportunity program is helping workers turn the skills they develop on the job into recognised university credits, creating pathways into business, management, technology, HR and even MBA studies. The initiative recognises the value of workplace experience and opens new doors for career progression.

The program is already changing lives in the Northern Territory, with local success stories demonstrating how dedication, training and opportunity can lead from crew member to business owner. It’s another example of how education and industry partnerships are creating pathways for Territorians to learn, grow and succeed.

A major shift in offshore maintenance is delivering real benefits for the Northern Territory, with lifeboat servicing for INPEX Australia now being carried out at Monadelphous East Arm workshop in Darwin.

The first of 11 lifeboats arrived in Darwin for its major 60-month service, highlighting the growing capacity of local industry to deliver critical maintenance work closer to home.

As the Territory continues to expand its industrial and maritime expertise, projects like this demonstrate the value of investing in local capability, supporting businesses, workers and the broader economy.
