Our heartfelt condolences to Elsie and family. We were honoured to spend many hours with Alan over the years and will remember him fondly.
Our thoughts are with you from all of us at Nova 🤍
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Alan Dyer in his 93rd year.
Alan and his wife Elsie were the fourth generation to run Slaters Country Store, dedicating nearly 40 years after taking over from his uncle, Frank Slater, in the 1950s.
He was deeply involved in the Sheffield community and passionate about its history, helping bring to life the idea of painting murals across the town over 40 years ago.
A faithful man of God and devoted to his local church, Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a highly respected boss.
He will be greatly missed.
Sending our love and condolences to Elsie and the Dyer family.
