Public health survey for Victorian multilingual communities

Arabic, Punjabi, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese speakers are invited to take part in a short public health survey conducted by the Social Research Centre on behalf of Cancer Council Victoria.

Your views will help inform important policy and program work. To participate, you must live in Victoria and be 18 years or older.

Participants are invited to complete a 12‑minute survey, for which a $10 incentive will be provided. A limited number of respondents may be randomly chosen to participate in a 25‑minute survey, with a $25 incentive offered.

Hiring in Melbourne - Japanese Language Teacher – 2 weeks Intensive Course (April 2026)

FORMAT/LOCATION: In-person, at Laverton, Melbourne
DATE: 13 to 24 April 2026 (over 2 weeks)
REMUNERATION: $55 per hour + 12% superannuation, 25 hours in total.

ROLES: Japanese speakers with language teaching experience are invited to deliver a two-week intensive Japanese language course for adult learners in a school setting.

You will work 25 hours over two weeks, mostly during the afternoons from 1 pm to 3.30 pm, and a few mornings from 10.50 to 11.50 am.

DUTIES:
-Assist in delivering a Japanese language course based on existing materials
-Assist in revising lesson plans, conducting assessments and other administrative duties

Essential Criteria
- Fluent in Japanese
- University-educated, ideally in education or teaching
- Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching/tutoring English or Japanese to adults
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Excellent knowledge of the society, history, culture and politics of Japan
- International students or working holiday visa holders are welcome to apply.

LOCATION: In-person, near Laverton, Melbourne
DATE: 19 January to 11 Dec 2026
TIME: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (includes a one-hour meal break). This is a full-time position.
REMUNERATION: $55 per hour with superannuation on top

Students have prior knowledge of Spanish. Course materials will be provided. Teachers will be responsible for preparing lessons based on the provided materials, teaching, marking homework, assessing students, writing reports, helping to review and update course materials, and completing other administrative duties under the supervision of the senior Spanish teachers.

Applicants must:
- Have excellent communication skills in European Spanish
- Be fluent in spoken and written English
- Preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in education/Linguistics
- Have at least two years of experience teaching adults in English or - Spanish language (in Australia or overseas)
- Possess sound knowledge of the history, culture, and society of Spain
- Preferably have experience in translation or interpreting (Spanish and English)
- Be able to follow course guidelines and demonstrate a friendly, confident, and professional
