Jasmine Designs Helping freelancers build the 6-figure business they dreamed of when they left their 9-5

24/04/2026

Today I was on Ticker talking about all things Claude Design and how it’s sending many designers into an absolute freak out.

Because if the AI is now the one doing the slide decks, building the landing pages, coding and coworking and creating things for clients… where does that leave them?

And I get it, truly I do. When Claude Design was mentioned on a call this week, my face had subtitles I needed to hide.

But like most innovation, there are good parts and bad parts. But here’s what to remember if you’re a designer mid-spiral…

1. Claude Design has killed the excuses, but not the designers
2. If your job can be swapped for a prompt, that’s not your genius
3. Those designers scared are likely the same selling software access and hours rather than expertise.

Those who are going to make this new era work for them will be the ones who see problems before they exist and sell the solution, who focus on the personal connection than the prompt engineering and who utilised AI for the service it is in harmony with their own skills

Anyway, that’s my two cents
Obviously said in Kent Brockman voiceover…

Genuine question: does anyone read or hear “you’re not behind” and sigh with relief, grateful that some stranger has clocked their coordinates and said “this is fine”

And who wants to be fine?! No thanks

Don’t worry, I hear the irony. But I just don’t think it’s helpful.

Not for the freelancer who wants to feel like their financial goals are worth fighting for.
Not for the creative who’s worked hard to get to a place where their creativity is valuable.
Not for the designer or illustrator or content creator or creative business owner who knows that there’s more work to be done and is completely disinterested in being coddled.

This is for the high achiever who needs that fire under their butt to make the damn things happen.

The $10k, $20k, even $30k months that GET to feel normal
The client flow that ACTUALLY flows
The confidence built up to a DANGEROUS level because they know this is what they are supposed to be doing.

Behind? Bu****it
Swipe through. This one’s for you.

Comment PODCAST for the link

Over 8 totally bingeable episodes I break down the 6 shifts I made to build 6 figure success in my own creative freelance business and how you can too. All while staying solo, sane and sleeping.

If you’re a freelancer or creative with six figures (first revenue, then profit) in your sights for 2026, this is absolutely for you!

I’m gonna break the fourth wall for a sec.

This carousel either called you out or called you home.
It either got you all defensive or made you feel less alone.
And now you’re either pi**ed off or kinda wanna cry with relief.

Both are fine.

And this is going to sound harsh, but the sooner you accept that charging more means actually being better than others and seeing that through, the sooner you start making money from the creative genius that is genuinely worth the price tag.

Ironically, I’m in mindset coaching for this. Not because I don’t know it. Because knowing it, articulating it and living it are all very different things.

Save this for when you need it. Even if that’s now.

Just sayin…

And this gal, she is SMART, so capable and absolutely COULD build the offer she pitched me.

But she would be playing small
She would be catering to people who need more than the price covers
And she would find herself weeks, maybe months down the line and regretting she built her business on her smallest offer instead of making bank.

That’s my job, to see your business from the outside, to see the money making potential and show you what’s worth it and what’s not.

Need that energy in your corner? Comment COACH, let’s chat

There’s a version of you who isn’t trying to be “money hungry”.

You’re not chasing yachts or Ferraris.
You’re not trying to flex online.
You’re not obsessed with numbers for the sake of it.

You just want your business to stop feeling fragile.

You want to shout brunch without the mental maths.
You want deposits to land without your nervous system going into overdrive.
You want to open your laptop on a Monday and realise you actually had a weekend.
You want to let go of work that no longer fits without immediately worrying how you’ll replace it.

You don’t want more money.
You want what the money gives you.

Safety.
Choice.
Room to breathe.
Proof that the way you’re building this doesn’t have to cost you your energy.

Those moments don’t come from working harder or caring more.
They come from structure.
From pricing that carries the weight of your life.
From offers that don’t require you to be “on” all the time.
From a business that isn’t held together by hope and overdelivery.

If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t even need that much… I just want it to feel easier than this”… you’re not asking for too much.
You’re asking for sustainability.

And it’s not something you stumble into by accident.

If these are the moments you want your business to fund, and you want help getting there, let’s jump on a call and work it out.

It’s a public holiday* here in Australia and I woke up feeling guilty about having a day off, then felt guilty about feeling guilty, then opened my laptop “just to check something,” and now it’s 2pm and I’ve done that thing where I’m neither working nor resting, just existing in a weird limbo state that freelancers know TOO well.

The freedom we wanted? This ain’t it.

We left the 9-5 to escape other people making choices for us. And then we just… started letting the internet do it instead.

The hustle bros say rest is for the weak.
The rest police (often employees) say working today means you have “no boundaries.”

Your bank account is screaming one thing.
Your body is screaming another.

And you’re just standing in your kitchen in trackies and a nice top wondering why having CHOICES somehow feels worse than when someone else made them for you.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me earlier: the guilt isn’t coming from working OR resting. It’s coming from not believing you’re allowed to choose.

So work. Or don’t. Or do something in between that makes no sense to anyone but you.

Just stop making your choices for an audience that isn’t even watching.

The real flex is doing what works for YOU, and not needing to explain it to strangers on the internet. Including me 😉

It’s not a trick question, it’s a truth question. Lemme explain👇🏻

Your first reaction is probably a full-body flinch.

Because the obvious meanings feel… grim.
Like maybe they’re saying you were expensive and underwhelming or they paid too much for something basic and should’ve gone with someone cheaper

Oof.

But sit with it for a second.
If a great client said this about you, what would you actually want it to mean?

You’d want it to mean:
• they paid premium pricing and got premium results
• the investment paid off in ways they didn’t expect
• they knew what they were signing up for and it still exceeded expectations
• they’d do it again without blinking
• choosing you felt smart, not risky

In other words: expensive, and worth it.

You cannot deliver an “expensive and worth it” experience if you’re the cheap option someone chose because it felt safer.

When someone hires you because you’re the lowest quote, they’re not buying depth.
They’re buying speed.
They’re buying “just get it done.”

That’s the McDonald’s drive-through version of your work. Quick, predictable, forgettable.

When someone hires you because they see the value, because your pricing backs your expertise and your process, they get something else entirely.

They get:
• strategic thinking
• nuance
• judgment
• pattern recognition
• the calm confidence of someone who’s done this a hundred times

They get the full version of you.

They get what they paid for and they’re genuinely happy to pay the price.

Double tap if you have a client like this 🙊 ps we all have had at least one…

Let me ruin your day gently for a sec.

If a client is pi***ng you off, it’s probably not because they’re that bad. It’s because the price you charged didn’t buy enough patience.

Read it again.

Most “nightmare clients” are just regular humans doing regular client things… but you’re reacting like every email is a hate crime because deep down you know you undercharged.

When you’re paid properly:
• the revisions feel annoying, not enraging
• the questions feel normal, not disrespectful
• the scope creep gets handled instead of resented

When you’re underpaid:
• every request feels personal
• you start keeping score
• you fantasise about blocking them mid-invoice

Same client. Same behaviour.
Different price. Very different nervous system.

You don’t hate the client.
You hate the price you agreed to when you were being nice instead of honest.

Consider this your sign to stop pricing like you’re trying to be liked and start pricing like you want to stay sane.

Anyway.
Raise your rates.
Your blood pressure will thank you.
