I write some version of this every year, but here we are again: the year was FULL. December was MENTAL. My brain is on fumes and I have not washed my face today…. (Sorry, )

But 2025 was a good one.

This year brought a mix of new clients, long-time ones, and some good faith advice-giving, and the common thread is that I got to work with genuinely exceptional local brands. I am fussy about this.

People who care deeply about what they’re building, work hard (so so hard!) and bring great energy to the table. That’s where I do my best work.

I thrive under pressure and challenge, especially when the goal is to create something legitimately GOOD. I’m incredibly grateful for the trust my clients place in me and that they invite me into their businesses, share ideas and let me ride and or highjack/enhance their momentum.

End of year ramp up has begun. Between now and 24 December it’s about volume and quality with client work, all so my clients can rest easy(ish coz many still grind over the holidays) until January, and I can shut my laptop for consecutive days.

Super stoked with the video output from ’s lite shoot last month. Fresh content makes me happy and my job so much easier.

The Fremantle Traffic Bridge will be closed on Monday, 20th of October between 7pm and 6am.

During this time, road users, pedestrians, and cyclists are encouraged to use Stirling Highway to travel between North Freo and Freo. And, the PTA bus routes will also be affected, so keep an eye on Transperth for details.

No one likes a plagiarist, and shallow never sticks.
It has been a minute between Substack articles, but this topic keeps cycling back for my Clients in 2025, so: here you go…

I’ve seen my Client work mimicked: tone, tactics, visual identity, even word-for-word phrases - plucked from websites and socials. While it still triggers a quick rush of irritation, I’ve learned to process it strategically.

It tells me a lot about the competition.

I/we see you. (I could be a savage and name names but I won’t.)

You can cheat your way out of a creative bind, but the real stuff takes work.

A brand identity that resonates, connects with the right people, and builds trust isn’t just a “style”; it’s a reflection of who you are, what you stand for (values, values, values), and what you deliver.

I help clients articulate what’s true and important to them. A cohesive, real voice only comes from clarity and conviction. Good content and conversion is the result of strategy: top to bottom.

It’s not about sounding clever, or cool, or jumping on a trend. It’s about being clear and consistent, over time and across everything.
