I'm thrilled to announce that Althaf Hassan has rejoined icu2 as our CTO. A full circle moment for both Althaf and myself as he was among our first intake of programmers in our first office in Brunswick back in 2010, where he led the development team.

Today, Althaf brings 15 years of commercial experience and strong technical capabilities across the corporate, government and commercial sectors, having worked on AI-powered marketplaces, SaaS platforms, and enterprise-grade system development. His career spans leadership roles where he designed secure, scalable systems, built development teams, and executed complex digital initiatives for organisations including Suncorp Group, Macquarie Group, UTS (University of Technology Sydney), DESE (Department of Education, Skills and Employment), DEWR (Department of Employment and Workplace Relations), and Department of Transport for NSW.

At icu2, Althaf will build our development team, maintain relationships with technical partners and lead the technical development of new AI and Machine Learning capabilities.

Althaf's return represents a pivotal moment for icu2, bringing deep technical expertise to the company and an exciting new chapter. And while the world has changed, our value of "Inspiring the Human Spirit in a Digital World" stays the same.

My presentation focused on our roadmap for “Vision 2030”, covering everything from ESG, Recruitment, Training, Staff Support Programs, Compliance, Governance and Technology. And to think that all of this came from a “simple rebrand”. For me personally, this is a pivotal moment for my own business as it emphasises something I have been saying for a very long time: that brand is not just an exercise of story telling. It is an exercise of truth telling, recognition of the past, understanding the present, and a vision for the future that translates to everything a company does. Thankfully having clients who appreciate the importance of brand from a broader context, it becomes much more than a logo, tagline or a corporate image; it is an authentic expression of the spirit of the people who make up the organisation, defined by everything they do on a daily basis. Ultimately, it’s about creating a legacy and making a meaningful contribution to our community and our society. Being involved in this program from its conception, to now helping translate that to reality, has been an incredibly rewarding experience. We've only just started!

After three years of working in a self-imposed Covidesque isolation, I made the decision to finally move my business out of home… indefinitely. To say that it is refreshing is an understatement! I am working on a rebrand from my clients office (Maxi Blue) in the nice part of Geelong on Pakington Street.

With cafes, wine bars and restaurants a stones-throw away, I am meeting interesting people every day and something as simple as a casual conversation over coffee, makes the work day that much more enjoyable. Even the drive to work opens up plans, the next move, the next hustle, the next venture. Love it!!!

And how good is that workstation! Finally have everything working, networked, secured, encrypted and ready to rumble. There is enough processing power on that one table to bring down a city grid! Today there is one chair. In a week there will be two. In a year??? Only time will tell but the sky really is the limit. But I sure as hell have no intention of slowing down or sitting still... ill leave that in Indented Head 😉

Now let’s show this town what a couple blokes from the Western Suburbs of Melbourne can do when they put their heads together and have a proper crack at it!
