WEBSITE SEARCH RESULTS
I keep seeing alarmist posts about how websites are being ignored by search engines like Google because they now use AI to produce search results.
The claim is that AI now searches for and lists search results differently and that “your website” won’t be showing up as it used to.
I’ve studied and tested this claim carefully, and I found no evidence to support the claims.
The tests I’ve done produce very similar search results for a wide range of search queries for a wide range of products and services, with and without AI produced results.
IMO as long as your website is designed well and has content optimised for humans looking for your products/services, your website will continue to show up in search results just as it did before AI became the latest tool used by search engines.
The best thing you can do is test the search results yourself. Think about the words/phrases people are most likely to use when looking online for your goods or services.
If you’re business is appearing on the first page of the search results, your website is fine. If it’s not on page one, it probably never has been, and you need help. Researches know that few people look past page 1 search results, and hardly anyone bothers checking beyond page 2.
If that’s you, then yes, your website needs professional SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). Not because AI is ignoring you, but because your site is not properly optimised.
Remember, if people can’t quickly find you online, they’re unlikely to contact your business.
