šŸ“² ā€œthe algorithm only wants videos made in Editsā€... not quite. Mosseri has confirmed you can edit your Instagram and Facebook videos in other apps, there's only one catch.

We use a mix of software depending on the client and what we’re making:
ā˜† Descript ā˜† CapCut ā˜† Canva ā˜† Edits

Pro tip: edit somewhere else, then publish through Edits.

There’s still a lot of talk around the ā€œMade on Editsā€ label and whether Meta gives those posts a boost on the feed, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed, so I wouldn’t choose worse editing software just to stay inside Edits. Use the app that gets you the best video with your skill level, maybe that is Edits.

What are you editing reels in at the moment? Have you noticed better reach from anything specific?

🌟 Great news if you've been posting online but don't know if there's any point.

Our Social Media Visibility Audit gives you an outside look at one platform with feedback you'll understand and use straight away. We review one platform from the perspective of someone deciding whether to follow, click, enquire or buy.

This is a one-off service, so you don’t need to hand over your social media or commit to ongoing management. You can take the feedback and make the changes yourself with confidence that your time making content isn’t going to waste. ✨
If you’ve wanted someone else to look at your socials and tell you what they’d change, this is for you. Send us a message or book your audit through our website šŸ“²

šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« ā€œYour business needs to be posting 5 image posts, 2 reels and 4 stories a weekā€... well no. You actually don’t.

There isn’t a set number of posts for everyone. It all depends on your audience, industry and what your team can maintain.

When you find a businesses’ social media, do you care about how many times they post a week? Maybe, but you probably care more about…
ā˜† being able to tell what they sell
ā˜† how good their products look
ā˜† customer reviews, tags + stories
ā˜† what local connections they have
ā˜† how fast they answer your message

If you’re posting all the time and still not seeing results, I’d look at your strategy before adding more posts. Try sharing your posts to a Facebook group that hasn’t seen them yet instead of making a whole new one.

How often are you posting at the moment? Do you care about how much others post?

šŸ«‚šŸ›ļø There are people whose newsletters I’ve opened for years and businesses I’ve followed online without ever meeting the owner.

When they launch something I want, I already know a lot about them. I know how they think, what they care about and whether I trust their recommendations.

Familiarity has commercial value.

AI is making it incredibly easy to produce polished content at scale, including videos that look like a real person speaking. I use AI myself, but I think that makes the genuinely human parts of marketing even more important.

You don’t need to turn your business account into a personal diary. Give people enough of you to recognise the person behind the logo. That can be your voice in an email, a quick video explaining why you do something a certain way, a story from the week, an opinion on something happening in your industry or a photo that wasn’t made for a campaign.

Do you feel more likely to buy from a business when you feel like you know the person behind it?

Hi, I’m Eva, and I’m looking to connect with local businesses who want to improve their social media. šŸ“²

I’ve been creating content for as long as I can remember. I started a newspaper in primary school when I was 9, ran an online magazine for creatives as a teenager, and my first paid job was a social media manager and waiter for a cafe in Hanoi when I was 15.

Now I work with businesses through Creative Desk , helping with social media, content, websites and email marketing.

šŸŒ„ Our Blue Mountains social media package is for you if:
• your business is based between Penrith and Mt Victoria
• you want more photos and videos without shooting it all yourself
• you forget to post when you get busy
• you want Reels, captions, graphics, scheduling and engagement done for you
• you want content that looks and sounds like your business, not generic templates or AI graphics
• you want someone local who understands the Blue Mountains and can come to you for monthly content capture

I’ve lived in the Blue Mountains since 2023, so I know the local businesses, communities, events and places people here recognise.

If you want your social media to feel more local, more personal and much easier to keep on top of, send me a message. I’d love to know what you do and where you’re based.

āš ļø When was the last time you checked who can log into your business?

Businesses collect logins over the years. Someone helps with Facebook ads, another person updates the website, an employee gets access to Drive, a freelancer sets up an email campaign. The work ends, but nobody goes back and removes them.

Go through the platforms your business relies on and remove people, agencies and connected tools you no longer use. Check administrator access while you’re there, turn on two-factor authentication, and make sure the business owner has the highest level of control.

Do it again when someone leaves your team or finishes working with you. Save this for the next time you’ve got 10 minutes of boring business admin to knock over.

šŸ¤– Sure, AI can produce content quickly but it doesn’t care about your customer journey, reputation, service details, etc.

45% of Australians trust a brand less if they find out its ads are created mainly using AI, and 44% are less likely to consider that brand (YouGov).

People feel the difference between marketing shaped by someone who understands your business and marketing pasted from a ChatGPT prompt.

šŸ“² A professional marketer helps decide what needs to be said, where it belongs, how it should sound, what the customer needs next, and how to keep your business recognisable across your website, social media, emails and other marketing content.

At Creative Desk, we use tools carefully, but the strategy, editing, judgement and brand voice stay personal.

Want marketing that genuinely sounds like your business and speaks directly to your audience? Send us a message.

šŸŽŖšŸ”” Small business marketing hasn’t changed much since medieval market day. We’ve just swapped the town square for Instagram and the handbell for a bluetooth microphone

& it still feels just as embarrassing.

No matter how polished the videos you watch online are, know that everyone forgets a line, stares at the camera for too long and has no idea what to do with their hands.

Remember that your audience only has to see the take you pick, and they’re paying far less attention to your nerves than you are.

Showing your face helps people remember your business and feel more comfortable buying from you. šŸŽ„ Film the video you’ve been thinking about, choose the best take and laugh at the rest!

& if filming still makes you want to throw your phone across the room, send us a message. We can plan and create the content for you, including faceless content that still shows your products, services and personality without putting you on camera.
