The first stage of any design project or brand is….MOODBOARDS!
Mood boards are a great tool to use for determining what your brand will FEEL like, what kind of aesthetics and elements does your brand have, what your colour palette will be, most importantly..
what kind of audience will your business attract.
Moodboards can be used as a point of reference for anything involved in the design and stylisation of your brand, from your logo and packaging to your social media posts. If your design or image doesn’t match the moodboard, it might be best to go with something different.
I love creating moodboards and was really excited when I got to create my own for this business! I want my brand to feel clean, modern slightly urban but still have a lot of natural and organic elements with wooden textures and plants. You know the photos you see of when nature takes over old industrial areas? There’s graffiti art everywhere, various shades of greys that make reds from the rusted metal extra vibrant, contrasting against the organic life that has begun to reclaim that space. Add an overcast or rainy day…👌 that’s the essence I want my brand to have.
A moodboard will help me capture that essence and I can use it as guide throughout the growth of my business. If you’re having trouble with knowing your brand aesthetics, a mood-board is a great way to start 🌿✌️
