Hearing Tim McCallum speak at the Paws & Purpose Soirée was very touching.

His story wasn’t really about adversity.
It was about possibility.

About resilience.
About finding ways to move forward when life doesn’t go according to plan.

And alongside him was Casper, a living example of the extraordinary impact assistance dogs can have on someone’s independence and quality of life.

Thank you Tim for sharing your story so openly and reminding us that some of the most powerful lessons in leadership and life come from perspective.

This morning I had the privilege of attending the Paws & Purpose Soirée hosted by at

Like many people, I thought assistance dogs were simply highly trained companions.

What I didn’t fully appreciate was the years of work, dedication, volunteer support and specialist training that goes into preparing a dog to transform someone’s life.

From supporting Australians living with physical disabilities, autism and PTSD, these remarkable dogs provide far more than assistance.

They provide confidence.
Independence.
Connection.
And in many cases, freedom.

A highlight of the morning was hearing from Tim McCallum and meeting his incredible assistance dog, Casper. Their story was a powerful reminder that sometimes the greatest impact comes from the partnerships we least expect.

A big thank you to Cristiane Carlos, Tim Taylor, Kim Sutton and the entire Assistance Dogs Australia team for hosting such a meaningful event and for giving us a glimpse into the extraordinary work happening behind the scenes.

And yes… there were plenty of puppy cuddles too 🐶

Small businesses are going to play a massive role in shaping the future of Queensland over the next decade.

Today, I had the opportunity to attend the Small Business Month conference on the Gold Coast, where conversations centred around innovation, growth, and the opportunities leading up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

One thing became very clear:
The businesses that position themselves early, build visibility, strengthen their brand, and adapt strategically will be the ones that benefit most from what’s coming.

As someone who works closely with businesses across finance, insurance, property and professional services, it was incredibly valuable to hear the discussions around infrastructure, tourism, economic growth, partnerships, and the long-term impact the Brisbane 2032 Olympics will have across Queensland.

Grateful to the Queensland Government for the invitation and for continuing to invest in and support the small business community across the Gold Coast and beyond.

The world’s most prestigious restaurant guide was actually a desperate marketing ploy to sell pieces of rubber. 🛞

In 1900, Michelin wasn't a restaurant guide.
It was a tyre company.

Instead of running ads that begged, “Please buy our tyres,” they did something radical.
They created a reason for people to drive.

They published a guide filled with:
- Detailed maps
- Hotel recommendations
- Fine dining spots
- Petrol station locations

💡The logic was simple:
If people drive more, they wear out tyres faster.
If they wear out tyres, they buy more.

That’s strategy.

Michelin created demand.
They understood the behaviour behind the buyer.

Instead of asking "what should we post today?"
Take a step back, ask a better question: “What does our audience need to believe, understand, or feel before they are ready to choose us?”

Content fills a feed.
Strategy moves a business.

Growth doesn’t come from more content.
It comes from better strategy.

Before you create more content, ask what behaviour you’re actually trying to influence.
