Collection Complete 🦌🐇🦔 Looking back at my four submissions for the series.

Over the last month, I’ve been quietly building a small collection of woodland animal prints, and it feels wonderful to see them all sitting side-by-side. From the initial Deer & Dahlia layout to the final Hedgehog & Mushrooms, the goal was to weave soft, storybook characters into timeless, traditional medallion frameworks. By keeping the color palettes muted and focusing on hand-drawn line work, they form a quiet, connected little family.

The Grand Finale 🦔🍄 Wrapping up the challenge with my fourth and final piece!

I have to admit, I really enjoyed working within the traditional damask layout style during this series. When planning these forest creatures, using a classic, structured framework felt like a natural way to frame the illustrations and turn them into wearable pattern coordinates.

For Hedgehog & Mushroom Heritage Damask, I chose a soft, low-contrast palette so the textured lines of the hedgehog and the mushroom caps sit quietly alongside the simple acanthus scrollwork. It is layered over a vintage cracked-plaster background texture to give the print a soft, faded quality.

I am completely blown away! I was just about to head to bed when the results dropped for the Elevated Classics challenge, and my Origami Architectural Trellis in Warm Alabaster officially placed 12th in the world!

Going up against so many incredible global designers is always daunting, but placing 12th is just the biggest dream come true. Thank you so much to everyone who voted and supported this design! 🤍

Going completely against the trend grain with this one! 🖤✨I wanted to go bold, dark, and wonderfully whimsical for my latest design challenge, and seeing everyone's amazing reactions to Phantom Tea Party Toile has completely made my day! From "totally radical" to "spooky fun," thank you all so much for loving this moody palette as much as I loved creating it. For all my fellow creators and makers out there, this design is officially off to licensing and ready for your next unique sewing project! 🧵👻 I really hope you like it if you haven't seen it before.

Blackberry Bramble & Starling
I’ve officially finished up this piece for the collection! I wanted to ground these wild, mischievous birds in a formal, classical Damask layout [again], surrounded by tangled blackberry branches and a few hidden surprises (keep an eye out for a tiny caterpillar and some gossamer cobwebs! 🕸️🐛).

Fun bird fact: Did you notice their eyes? In the wild, male and female starlings look almost identical, but you can tell them apart by their eyes—males have a clean, solid dark brown/red iris, while females have a striking, bright yellow ring around theirs. I just had to include both characters in this frame! I’ve locked this down in 6 colorways ranging from airy Antique Linen to a dramatic, Victorian Dark Charcoal.

Fable & Flora 🐇🌾 My submission for the challenge!

Say hello to Meadow Majesty: Hare & Dandelion Damask. For this layout, I wanted to merge traditional storybook illustration with a luxury, symmetrical heritage damask framework. Every single strand of fur on the hare was carefully hand-rendered across three iterations until the texture felt entirely alive. To balance the portrait, the background features 20-spoke vector dandelion wheels acting as delicate lace frames, with fine white spores softly dissipating into a rich, hand-woven slub linen texture. Beyond the grid. 📐✨

For the latest challenge, I wanted to step completely away from flat, predictable patterns. This piece—Origami Architectural Trellis—is an exploration of structure, tactile geometry, and quiet luxury.

Instead of standard 2D shapes, I focused on mapping light and shadow to create a fluid, three-dimensional illusion. By combining the precise angles of traditional paper folding with an organic plaster texture and delicate pinstriped background panels, it transforms a classic motif into a living, sculptural feature wall.

I usually try to keep my cool on here, but I have to admit—I am genuinely so excited about how this one came to life. 🤍
